Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: After a week of cancellations and postponements, Lourdes has added a game to its schedule and will travel to Taylor on Thursday for a non-conference tilt.  The Gray Wolves will then begin an eight-game homestand this weekend, hosting Lawrence Tech for a three-game Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference series at Mercy Field.

Head Coach Jeremy Snow: In his second season on the Lourdes bench, Jeremy Snow has a 19-48 (.284) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the second head coach in Lourdes program's history, and interim tag removed from his title during the offseason.

Probable Starters: Zach Brown (RHP, 0-0, 7.20) will be handed the baseball for Thursday's game at Taylor.  In Saturday's doubleheader against Lawrence Tech, Colin Gottschalk (RHP, 1-0, 4.50) and Kolby Rogge (RHP, 1-2, 4.95) are slated to toe the rubber.  Matt York (RHP, 0-3, 5.40) will take the hill on Sunday in the series finale against the Blue Devils.

Series Notes: Taylor holds a 3-1 all-time series advantage dating back to Feb. 14, 2013.  The Trojans have won the last three meetings between the two schools, sweeping a doubleheader on March 17, 2015 12-2 and 11-4 in the last contests the two teams have played.  All four games have been played in Upland, Ind.  Lourdes and Lawrence Tech have never met on the baseball diamond.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes split a four-game series with Indiana Wesleyan in Cartersville, Ga.  The two sides each posted a walk-off victory on Monday, with the Wildcats winning 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh in game one while Lourdes notched a 7-6 win in extra innings in the nightcap.  Lourdes scored five unanswered runs on Tuesday to earn a 5-4 victory before Indiana Wesleyan closed the series on Wednesday with a 16-2 triumph.  Lourdes also played a game at 24th-ranked Reinhardt on Wednesday, suffering a 6-3 setback after allowing two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings.  The four-game weekend series at Hiwassee slated for Friday and Saturday was cancelled due to wet field conditions.

Scouting Taylor: The Trojans have won three straight games entering Thursday after sweeping a doubleheader from Marygrove over the weekend.  Nathan Targgart is batting .422 with three homers and 16 runs batted in for a team hitting .304.  Taylor's pitching staff sports a 6.10 earned run average and opponents are hitting .297 against them.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the weekend having won two of their last three games, but are coming off of an 8-2 loss at Webber International on March 10.  Sean Fannon is hitting .327 with three home runs and 17 runs batted in to pace Lawrence Tech, which is batting .226 as a team.  The pitching staff sports an 8.63 earned run average with opponents batting .322 against them.

Schedule Updates: Lourdes has added a single game against Taylor for this Thursday beginning at 4 p.m.  The Gray Wolves' doubleheader which was scheduled for at Goshen on Tuesday (March 14) was postponed and will now be made up on Monday, April 17 with a 2 p.m. start.  The four game series at Hiwassee slated for last weekend has been cancelled and will not be made up.

Working His Way on Base: Dallas Riggs and Kyle Sherman have both reached base in every game in which they have played this spring.  Riggs has a nine-game on base streak dating back to the Marygrove series last fall.  The junior is batting .271 but has drawn six walks and been hit three times as well, posting a .379 on base percentage.  Sherman has reached in seven straight contests and has a .375 on base percentage despite hitting just .174.  Sherman has drawn seven free passes.

Pastor Raises Average: George Pastor raised his batting average 46 points last week.  After batting just .242 following the Cumberland series, Pastor registered seven hits against Indiana Wesleyan, including two three-hit games, and is now second on the team batting .288 for the year.

Sacher and Bloom Becoming Mr. Every Days: Kyle Sacher and Liam Bloom have been called upon repeatedly from the bullpen this season.  Sacher has appeared in a team-high nine games this year, sporting a 4.32 earned run average, while Bloom has seen action seven times, posting a 1-1 record in 10.2 innings.  The duo's ERA rank among the best on the pitching staff.

Solid Defensively: Lourdes has done a solid job flashing the leather through the first 16 games this season, committing just 21 errors.  The Gray Wolves have posted a .962 fielding percentage after recording marks of .951, .950, and .941 over the previous three years respectively.

Bench Success: Lourdes hitters have shown a great deal off success coming off of the bench in pinch-hitting roles.  Coming off of the bench, Gray Wolves are 8-for-19 this season, posting a .421 average.  Eight different players have pinch hits.

This and That: Dallas Riggs is the lone Gray Wolf to appear in all 16 games this season ... George Pastor leads the team with four multi-hit games and three multi-RBI contests ... Jay Denman enters the week with the longest active hitting streak, four ... eight different hurlers have drawn starting assignments on the hill this year.
