Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: Lourdes wraps up an eight-game homestand with a three-game series against Concordia (Mich.), playing a single game on Thursday night before battling the Cardinals in a Saturday afternoon twinbill.  The Gray Wolves then step out of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Monday, traveling to Goshen for a doubleheader to make up a March 14 postponement.

Head Coach Jeremy Snow: In his second season on the Lourdes bench, Jeremy Snow has a 22-60 (.268) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the second head coach in Lourdes program's history, and interim tag removed from his title during the offseason.

Probable Starters: Kyle Rogge (RHP, 2-5, 9.33) will get the start in the Concordia (Mich.) series opener for the Gray Wolves on Thursday evening.  A.J. Schraffenberger (LHP, 0-0, 7.71) is slated to start game one of Saturday's doubleheader while Bill Laranga (RHP, 0-1, 6.08) is set to get the start in game two of the twinbill against the Cardinals.  The starters for the doubleheader against Goshen on Monday have yet to be announced.

Series Notes: Concordia (Mich.) leads the all-time series against Lourdes 12-7-1 dating back to April 13, 2012.  Last year the two teams split a four-game series at Mercy Field, with the Cardinals winning the first doubleheader 10-1 and 8-3 before the Gray Wolves took the final two games 7-4 and 3-2 in 10 innings.  All-time, Concordia holds an 8-4 series edge at Mercy Field.  Lourdes holds a 4-2 series advantage over Goshen dating back to March 17, 2012.  Last year the two teams split a twinbill at Mercy Field, with Lourdes winning the opener 5-0 before the Maple Leafs won game two 10-9.  The teams have split the only two games they have played in Goshen, Ind.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes dropped both games of a doubleheader against Cleary on Wednesday, falling 10-0 in the opener and 7-6 in eight innings in game two.  The Cougars tossed a one-hitter in game one while Noah Childress went 4-for-5 for Lourdes in the nightcap.  Saturday Siena Heights took the opener of a doubleheader 8-5 despite Devin Stanley's 3-for-5 effort for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes bounced back in game two with a 16-9 win, scoring 12 times in the seventh inning.  Stanley drove home five runs while Jay Denman and Cameron Gallo each had three hits.  Siena Heights won the series finale on Sunday 8-0, allowing just two hits.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the series having dropped the final two games of their series last weekend to Madonna.  Blaine Milheim leads Concordia batting .405 while Jacob Maas is hitting .397 with 13 home runs and 42 runs batted in.  As a team the Cardinals are batting .316 while the pitching staff sports a 3.31 earned run average.  Taylor Hill leads the hurlers with a 5-2 record and a 1.57 ERA.

Scouting Goshen: The Maple Leafs enter this weekend's series at Indiana Wesleyan having dropped three straight games, including both ends of a doubleheader against Taylor on Tuesday.  Clinton Stroblee II leads Goshen batting .379 with 34 runs batted in for a team hitting .287 overall.  The pitching staff sports a 5.90 earned run average, led by Michael Walker's 4-0 record and 2.45 ERA.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor the 10 members of the 2017 senior class prior to Saturday's doubleheader.  Zach Babb, Jonathan Barker, Bill Laranga, Zak Laubscher, Josh Lord, Derek Scott, A.J. Schraffenberger, Kyle Sherman, Mike Vomastek, and Zack Zsolcsak are all nearing the end of their playing careers.

Playing Under the Lights: Lourdes has not played a night game (starting at 5 p.m. or later) this season.  The Gray Wolves will play their first game under the lights on Thursday evening with a 6 p.m. start against Concordia (Mich.).

All or Nothing Offensively: Lourdes bats were either really hot or really cold last week.  The Gray Wolves were limited to just one hit in the opener against Cleary and two hits in the season finale against Siena Heights.  In between, Lourdes registered games with 14, 13, and 18 hits respectively.

Childress Produces: Noah Childress had a four-hit game against Cleary in the second game of the doubleheader on Wednesday.  The effort was a career-high for the freshman, and just his fifth multi-hit game during his rookie year.  Childress also had two doubles last week, and leads the team with eight two-baggers on the year.

Pulling Double Duty: Jay Denman has been busy as a freshman, playing both golf and baseball for the Gray Wolves.  The rookie has batted .277 in 24 games on the diamond with a home run.  On the golf course, Denman has posted an 80.23 stroke average playing in all 11 events.  He finished second in Monday's Rochester Invitational, one stroke off the lead.

Coming off the Bench: Zach Brown has produced when called upon off of the bench.  The freshman is a perfect 6-for-6 in pinch-hitting opportunities on the year.

This and That: Dallas Riggs is the lone Gray Wolf to appear in all 31 games this season ... Lourdes pinch hitters are batting .450 on the season ... Cameron Gallo enters the week with a four-game hitting streak.
