at Rochester (Mich.) (1-5, 0-0 WHAC)
Ultimate Soccer Arena - Pontiac, Mich.

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference portion of the 2017 season kicks off this week for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves travel to league newcomer Rochester (Mich.) for a Saturday evening match.

Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his third season on the Lourdes bench, Barry Spitzer has a 15-18-4 (.459) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Rochester (Mich.) are meeting on the pitch in men's soccer for the first time ever on Saturday evening.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes managed just four shot attempts on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves suffered a 3-0 setback on the road at Indiana Wesleyan.  Jose Cedillo made nine saves in goal for the Gray Wolves.  Judah Goodridge scored his first of three goals just 2:41 into the match on Sunday as Lourdes defeated Andrews 9-0 at home.  Reece Riccardi had two goals as well for the Gray Wolves, and Lourdes limited the Cardinals to just six total shot attempts.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors are beginning their inaugural WHAC season following a 1-0 setback at Mount Vernon Nazarene last Saturday afternoon.  Mark Shawnah leads Rochester with five goals and five assists for 15 total points on the year while Christian Sipley has added 12 points on four goals and four helpers.  In goal, KJ Jones has logged a majority of the minutes, and sports a 3.99 goals against average along with a .708 save percentage.

Lourdes in WHAC Openers: The Gray Wolves are 0-1-1 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference openers during the program's first two seasons, facing a NAIA top-10 program in each match.  Last year Lourdes batted third-ranked Davenport to a 1-1 draw after falling 2-0 at ninth-ranked Northwestern Ohio in the 2015 opener.

Another Gray Wolf Hat Trick: Haggi Amirally scored three goals at Grace Bible on Sept. 7 for Lourdes' first hat trick of the season.  Judah Goodridge added his first career hat trick on Sunday with his three-goal performance against Andrews.  Goodridge now has four goals on the season, second most on the squad, and 12 for his career, second most in program history.

High Scoring Effort: Lourdes found the back of the net nine times against Andrews on Sunday, matching the third most goals ever scored by a Gray Wolf team.  Lourdes also scored nine at Andrews in 2016.  The school record is 27 against Great Lakes Christian on Sept. 7, 2016.

Another Clean Sheet for Cedillo: Jose Cedillo recorded his sixth career shutout, and second of the season in the win over Andrews.  The fifth-year senior goalkeeper needed to make just two saves in the win.  The school record holder for clean sheets sports a 1.10 goals against average and a .786 save percentage this season.

Getting on the Scoreboard: Ryan O'Hara and Risaiah Osborne both netted their first goals of the season on Sunday against Andrews.  O'Hara now has four goals in his career at Lourdes while Osborne has found the back of the net three times.

Spreading Around the Points: Lourdes has nine different players that have recorded at least one point this season through five matches.  Showing off the unselfishness, seven of the nine players have handed out at least one assist.

Controlling the First Half: Lourdes has taken control of matches during the opening 45 minutes this season.  The Gray Wolves have yielded just one first half goal while outscoring the opposition 9-1 during the time frame.

All-Time in WHAC Play: As the Gray Wolves embark upon a new conference season, Lourdes enters with a 6-13-3 mark against league foes.  Last year Lourdes went just 1-9-1 in conference play, finishing in 11th place.  The Gray Wolves posted a sixth place finish in 2015 after finishing the year with a 5-4-2 WHAC record.

Amirally Among the Nation's Leaders: Haggi Amirally ranks 14th among all NAIA players averaging 1.25 goals per match this season.  The Gray Wolf senior is also 24th nationally tallying 2.5 points per night.  As a team Lourdes ranks 24th in the country scoring 3.2 goals per match and is 25th tallying 2.6 assists per contest.

Arno Nearing Assist Record: Akilla Arno had two assists against Andrews on Sunday, and shares the team lead with three helpers in 2017.  Arno has eight career assists, just two shy of the school record set by Jake Kirchoff-Sleet (2015-2016).

Roster Addition: Nathanael Brown has rejoined the Lourdes men's soccer roster after playing for the Gray Wolves in 2015.  He appeared in both matches last week.  Brown has three seasons of eligibility remaining, and appeared in one match for Lourdes two years ago, making his collegiate debut at Cincinnati Christian.  Brown is a multi-sport athlete, as he is also a member of the Lourdes lacrosse team.

Captains: Jose Cedillo and Judah Goodridge have been named the Lourdes captains for the 2017 season.  Both are serving in the leadership role for the first time in their careers.

This and That: The shutout loss to Indiana Wesleyan marked the first clean sheet for a Gray Wolf opponent since Oct. 19, 2016, a 1-0 setback to Cornerstone ... Judah Goodridge's match-winning goal against Andrews was the third of his career, tying the school record.
