Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: A three-match homestand begins this week for Lourdes University as the Gray Wolves continue Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. The Gray Wolves will entertain Aquinas on Wednesday afternoon before hosting Indiana Tech as part of Homecoming weekend in a Saturday matinee.
Head Coach Barry Spitzer: In his third season on the Lourdes bench,
Barry Spitzer has a 16-18-4 (.474) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as a men's soccer collegiate head coach at four year programs. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Aquinas holds a 1-0-1 series edge over Lourdes dating back to Oct. 21, 2015, a double-overtime draw in Grand Rapids, Mich. Last year the Saints defeated Lourdes 1-0, also at Aquinas. Wednesday's match marks the first time the Saints have visited Wildcat Stadium. Lourdes and Indiana Tech have split their first two meetings in a series which goes back to Oct. 17, 2015. The Gray Wolves downed the Warriors 3-2 at Wildcat Stadium in the initial meeting before Indiana Tech scored a 4-2 victory in Fort Wayne, Ind. last year.

Jose Cedillo made seven saves on the way to the shutout, recording a clean sheet for the third time in the last four contests.
Scouting Aquinas: The Saints have won five of their last six matches after upsetting 14th-ranked Northwestern Ohio 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at home. Alex Mendez leads Aquinas with five goals on the year while Jacob Bedi has added three goals and an assist. Franco Calabrese has handed out four helpers. In goal, Theoren Collison has played a majority of the minute, sporting a 1.67 goals against average and a .762 save percentage.
Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors enter the week having defeated Concordia (Mich.) 7-0 on Saturday afternoon. Indiana Tech hosts Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday evening before heading to Lourdes. Brennan Cochran leads the Warriors with eight goals and 17 total points on the year, while Ruben Leonardo has found the back of the net three times while handing out six assists for 12 points. In goal, Edwin Rosado has played nearly every minute for Indiana Tech, sporting a 1.68 goals against average and a .683 save percentage.
First Conference-Opening Win: The win at Rochester on Saturday marked the first time the Gray Wolves have won a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener. Lourdes entered the match 0-1-1 in its prior two seasons, having earned a draw with third-ranked Davenport to open 2016.
Cedillo Earns WHAC Honors: Jose Cedillo was named the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week after making seven saves on his way to the shutout against Rochester. Cedillo now has three clean sheets on the year, all coming in the last four contests, and seven for his career. The honor was the second of his career for Cedillo, who also garnered the accolade on Oct. 5, 2015.
Amirally on a Scoring Spree: Haggi Amirally scored two goals on Saturday at Rochester to increase his team's scoring lead to seven goals and 14 total points. The seven goals already tie for third on the school's single season list. The senior has scored in four of the five matches in which he has appeared this year, posting a hat trick at Grace Bible back on Sept. 7.
A Helping Foot: Adilson Darosa handed out his team-leading fourth assist of the year at Rochester. All four of the redshirt-senior's assists have come over the last four matches. Darosa now has five career helpers, tied for third most in program history.
Controlling the First Half: Lourdes has taken control of matches during the opening 45 minutes this season. The Gray Wolves have yielded just one first half goal while outscoring the opposition 12-1 during the time frame.
Amirally Among the Nation's Leaders: Haggi Amirally ranks eighth among all NAIA players averaging 1.40 goals per match this season. The Gray Wolf senior is also 15th nationally tallying 2.80 points per night.
Roster Addition: Nathanael Brown has rejoined the Lourdes men's soccer roster after playing for the Gray Wolves in 2015.Brown has three seasons of eligibility remaining, and appeared in one match for Lourdes two years ago, making his collegiate debut at Cincinnati Christian. Brown is a multi-sport athlete, as he is also a member of the Lourdes lacrosse team.
Captains: Jose Cedillo and
Judah Goodridge have been named the Lourdes captains for the 2017 season. Both are serving in the leadership role for the first time in their careers.
This and That: Riley Hogan collected his first two collegiate points at Rochester, drawing an assist on the match-winning goal as well as on the final goal of the contest ...
