Lourdes' League of Legends varsity team made their eSports debut, defeating Shawnee State 2-0 in the best of three match.
In the first game, Lourdes played safe and built up an early lead in all of the lanes, allowing the Gray Wolves to get a large xp/gold advantage for item purchases. The game ended with a clean victory with minimal mistakes made.
The second game was similar to the first, but with Lourdes feeling confident in making bigger plays with precise and calculated aggression. The Gray Wolves Jungler, Clement Wittner (Strasbourgh, France), silently roamed and secured all of the necessary neutral objectives while simultaneously working with his teammates by assisting team fights in their lanes, which made it difficult for Shawnee to recover from their early CS (Creep Score) deficit.
Lourdes Attack-Damage-Carry, Wesley Pratt (Eureka, Mo./Eureka H.S.) and Support, Connor Doyle (Winthrop, Maine/Winthrop H.S.) coordinated a big play under Shawnee State's bottom T1 tower by landing incredible shots on the enemy, allowing them to take the tower and snowball the match. By 18 minutes, Lourdes had 15 kills with Shawnee State only having three. At this point there was nothing Shawnee State could do to stop Lourdes, and the Gray Wolves easily secured the victory. Â
