Upcoming in Gray Wolves Lacrosse: Lourdes heads south for the final three games of its season-opening road trip this week, beginning with a battle at Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.  The Gray Wolves then head on to Williamsburg, Ky. for a neutral site game against Point on Tuesday before facing host Cumberlands on Thursday.

Head Coach Patrick Yannarelli: In his fifth season on the Lourdes bench, Patrick Yannarelli has a 44-18 (.710) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  Yannarelli was named the NAIA National Coach of the Year in 2016.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes has never met Tennessee Wesleyan or Cumberlands in men's lacrosse.  The Gray Wolves are 1-0 all-time against Point, having defeated the Skyhawks 13-9 on March 9, 2017 in West Point, Ga.

Wrapping Up Last Week (or Two Weeks Ago): The Gray Wolves opened the season on Feb. 21 with a 13-4 victory at Cleary.  Danny Benson scored four times and Jake Noel added three goals in each of their collegiate debuts, while Jared Huiskens made nine saves in goal in the victory.

Scouting Tennessee Wesleyan: The Bulldogs have won two straight games after defeating SUNY-Delhi 7-5 on Wednesday.  Roderick Williams leads the team with nine goals and has 14 total points while Dalton O'Connell Zradicka has posted a team-high 15 points including nine assists.  Patrick DeMoss sports an 8.50 goals against average and a .553 save percentage in 120 minutes in goal.

Scouting Point: The Skyhawks earned their first win of the year last Saturday, defeating SUNY-Delhi 9-8.  Point faces Union (Ky.) and Cumberlands before battling Lourdes.  Kirby Gracia leads the team with seven goals while William Brown also has seven points, including a team-high four assists.  Harry Dismukes has posted a 17.94 goals against average and a .375 save percentage.

Scouting Cumberlands: The Patriots have won two straight after downing Michigan-Dearborn 11-4 on Sunday.  They face Point and Aquinas before hosting Lourdes.  Dylan Crouch leads the team with seven goals and eight points while Sam Collinson and Whitten McCune have three assists each.  Will Settle sports a 8.00 GAA and a .568 save percentage seeing most of the action in goal.

Huiskens Named Player of the Week: Jared Huiskens was named the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week after stopping nine of the 12 shots he faced in the victory over Cleary.  He played 53:28 in the contest, and enters the week with a 3.38 goals against average.

Freshmen Make Solid Debut: Led by four goals from Danny Benson and three more from Jake Noel, Lourdes freshmen accounted for 10 of the 13 goals in the season opener.  Greg Johanning scored twice while Chad Causley also found the back of the cage in his debut.

This and That: Lourdes scored 11 unanswered goals in the opener to turn a 2-0 deficit into an 11-2 lead ... the Gray Wolves won 19-of-21 face-offs against the Cougars, including 13-of-14 from Jake Noel ... Noel and Collin Miller each had eight ground balls ... a total of 10 Gray Wolves made their collegiate debuts against Cleary ... 10 of Danny Benson's 11 shot attempts were on goal in the season opener ... Lourdes went 3-for-5 in extra-man opportunities.
