The Lourdes University League of Legends team opened its playoffs on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Bellevue.
Â
The playoffs are a best of five match, instead of the previous best of three.Â
Â
Lourdes played phenomenally, which demonstrated their hard work and practice over the spring break. In the first game the Gray Wolves cruised with a 31-9 kill advantage. The second game went very quickly as well, with Lourdes being able to end the game at 22 minutes with 16-4 kill edge.Â
Â
The last game was a little more interesting, with Bellevue trying to put up a decent fight in the early-mid game, trading with Lourdes back and forth. However, The Gray Wolves proved to be too coordinated and made an incredible team-fight in the bottom lane. Several of Lourdes' players were low health, but somehow they were able to stay alive and coordinate and participate in their attacks to wipe the entire team. Even with their low health, they were able to recover and charge right into their base and end the game at 23 minutes, 24 kills to seven.Â
Â
Lourdes advances to face Columbia (Mo.) on March 24 in a 4 p.m. contest.
