Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: Lourdes is scheduled to play home games for the first time since Sept. 24 this week, as the Gray Wolves entertain Ohio State-Lima in a Thursday non-conference doubleheader before battling Lawrence Tech in a three-game weekend WHAC series.

Head Coach Jeremy Snow: In his third season on the Lourdes bench, Jeremy Snow has a 35-78 (.310) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the second head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Probable Starters: Liam Bloom (RHP, 0-2, 6.55) and Ryan Stoller (LHP, 0-1, 13.50) are slated to start in Thursday's doubleheader against Ohio State-Lima.  Matt York (RHP, 2-0, 2.70) is set to be handed the baseball in the opener of Saturday's twinbill against Lawrence Tech with Zach Brown (RHP, 2-2, 2.57) toeing the rubber in game two.  In Sunday's series finale, Braxton McKart (RHP, 1-0, 13.81) is the probable starter.

Series Notes: Lourdes won the only previous game against Ohio State-Lima, downing the Barons 8-7 at Mercy Field on April 11, 2012.  The Gray Wolves hold a 2-1 series edge against Lawrence Tech dating back to March 18, 2017.  The Blue Devils won the first meeting last year 12-10 in 13 innings before Lourdes responded with a doubleheader sweep, 14-8 and 10-1, all at Mercy Field.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes posted a 6-3 record in Florida during their annual spring trip.  The Gray Wolves opened with a doubleheader sweep of Rochester (Mich.) 4-3 and 11-1 in non-conference action before downing Grace 18-15 and 6-5.  In the Warner Invitational, Lourdes opened with a 13-11 setback to Mount Vernon Nazarene and a 14-2 loss at Warner.  The Gray Wolves bounced back with an 8-0 shutout of Thomas before falling 6-3 to Saint Francis (Ill.).  In the finale, Lourdes earned a 12-6 triumph over Spring Arbor.

Scouting Ohio State-Lima: The Barons were 1-3 entering Wednesday's game at Cincinnati-Clermont.  No other statistics are available.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have dropped two straight games entering contests at Michigan (Wednesday) and Central Michigan (Thursday).  Sean Fannon leads Lawrence Tech batting .369 with four home runs and 23 RBI.  The Blue Devils are hitting .279 as a team while the pitching staff sports a 4.75 earned run average.

York Named Pitcher of the Week: Matt York earned WHAC Pitcher of the Week accolades after two solid starts in Florida.  The senior right-hander went 1-0 with a 2.32 earned run average in 11.2 innings of work.  He struck out 17 and walked even, allowing just nine hits and three runs during the span.  He tossed a complete game shutout for the Gray Wolves in an 8-0 victory over Thomas, striking out a career-high nine hitters.

Best Start in Program History: The 9-7 start matches the best record for the Gray Wolves on the field through 16 games in program history.  The 2013 team began also the year 9-7 through 16 games, but two of the contests later were lost on the field and later changed to forfeit victories.

Swinging the Sticks: Lourdes enters the week batting .339 as a team, the 15th best average among all NAIA schools.  The Gray Wolves also rank 20th nationally with a .499 slugging percentage.  Jay Denman leads the team, and ranks 16th in the country, with his .469 average while his .878 slugging percentage is fifth best in the NAIA.

Streaking: Dallas Riggs has reached base safely in all 15 games in which he has appeared this season.  He enters the week with a seven-game hitting streak for the Gray Wolves.  Riggs is hitting .377 on the year with a .485 on base percentage.

More Streaks: Jay Denman has hit safely in his last seven games.  He entered the spring having hit safely in all five fall games in which he appeared, and after failing to get a hit in the first two games this spring, has added another seven-game hitting streak.

A One-Two Combination: Matt York and Zach Brown have both been solid starters for the Gray Wolves this season.  York is 2-0 with a 2.70 earned run average in 23.1 innings of work.  Opponents are batting just .250 against him.  Brown is 2-2 with a 2.57 ERA in 28 innings.  He has limited opponents to just a .204 average against him.  The duo have struck out 28 and 26 hitters respectively this year.

Lots of Multi-Hit and RBI Efforts: Lourdes had nine different players with at least three multi-hit games thus far this season.  Reilly Walters and Jay Denman lead the way with six each.  A total of 12 players have had at least one multi-RBI contest in 2018, with Glen Crabtree leading the way with five.

Stealing Bases: Lourdes has been aggressive on the base paths in the opening quarter of the season, stealing 28 of the 34 bases they have attempted.  Dallas Riggs leads the way a perfect 7-for-7 while Corey Righman and Jay Denman each have four steals.

This and That: Lourdes leadoff hitters are reaching base 50.4% of the time (61-of-121) ... the Gray Wolves are batting .320 with runners in scoring position ... the Gray Wolves are 8-2 when scoring six or more runs ... Lourdes is 6-0 this season when playing errorless baseball, but just 1-6 when committing two or more errors.
