Harrison H.S. - Farmington Hills, Mich.

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Lacrosse: Post season play begins on Tuesday night for Lourdes University, as the Gray Wolves travel to Lawrence Tech for an opening round game in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.  The Gray Wolves enter as the tournament's sixth seed while the Blue Devils are the third seed.

Head Coach Patrick Yannarelli: In his sixth season on the Lourdes bench, Patrick Yannarelli has a 57-30 (.655) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  Yannarelli was named the NAIA National Coach of the Year in 2016.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds a advantage all-time against Lawrence Tech in a series that began April 2, 2014.  The Blue Devils have won the last two meetings between the two schools, including an 8-7 overtime win at Wildcat Stadium on March 27 of this season.  The series is tied 2-2 on Lawrence Tech's home turf.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes led by two goals heading into the final quarter on Wednesday in the home finale against second-ranked Madonna, but the Crusaders forced extra time and eventually defeated the Gray Wolves 13-12 in double overtime.  Nick Johnson led Lourdes with six goals on the night.  Saturday, the Gray Wolves closed the regular season with a 15-7 victory at Michigan-Dearborn.  Blake Alexander scored four times while Johnson and Tyler Pezzot added three goals each.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the tournament with a four-game winning streak after upsetting second-ranked Madonna 14-11 on the road Saturday afternoon.  Brendan Oles leads Lawrence Tech with 35 goals and 56 points while Justin Light has added 31 tallies.  Maveric Muscat leads the Blue Devils with 24 assists this season.  In goal, Joel Trent has played a majority of the minutes, sporting a 12.08 goals against average and a .474 save percentage.

Lourdes in the WHAC Tournament: Lourdes is playing in the WHAC tournament for just the second time in program history, and first since 2017.  The Gray Wolves are 2-0 in conference tournament action, winning the title in their only appearance. Lourdes defeated Lawrence Tech on the road 18-11 in the semifinals before defeating Aquinas at home in the 2017 championship.

Playing Extra Lacrosse: Lourdes had played just four overtime games in program history prior to this season, but have been involved in three extra session contests this year.  The Gray Wolves are still looking for their first win when playing beyond 60 minutes this year, but are 3-4 all-time.  The game against Madonna on Wednesday marked the first time in program history Lourdes had played a double-overtime contest.

Record-Setting Pace: Tyler Hart currently is on pace to set the school's single season goals against average record (minimum 350 minutes).  He enters the tournament with a 7.58 GAA, just ahead of Jared Huiskens' 2018 mark of 7.67.

Scoring Race: Nick Johnson has pulled in front in the team's scoring race this season.  The freshman has scored a team-high 35 times, which ranks 13th in the NAIA, and has added eight assists for 43 points, 12 more than any other teammate.  His goal total is 10 more than the next nearest Gray Wolf.

Doing the Little Things: Collin Miller and Jake Noel have both been outstanding at the X this season.  Miller has won 80-of-134 faceoffs (59.7%) and has a team-high 60 ground balls while Noel is 72-of-124 (58.1%) with 54 ground balls.
