Lourdes Splits Overwatch and League with Aquinas

OVERWATCH

Box Score

Thursday night saw the Lourdes Overwatch team (10-6) defeat Aquinas (1-15) 2-0 as they continued their undefeated run in the second half of the GLEC season.

Map one took place on Oasis with round one taking the two teams to Gardens. Lourdes was able to take control up to 80% until Aquinas forced a switch. The round went into overtime with Lourdes taking the win. Round two was on University. This round wasn't nearly as close as the Gray Wolves took the round and the map.

Map two was Rialto. Lourdes started on offense and, thanks to stellar gameplay by DPS player Jason Almony, completed the entire map with not much resistance. Once the sides switched, the Gray Wolves were able to hold the Saints without a point, winning the round 3-0 and taking the match in a 2-0 decision

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Box Score:

The Lourdes League of Legends team suffered their first conference loss of the season as they fell to Aquinas 2-0.

Game one was a very long and close game that lasted 46 minutes. It seemed as though Lourdes had control for most of the round, even building up a 7.5k gold lead at 36 minutes in, until three consecutive lost objectives over the next two minutes doomed the Gray Wolves as the Saints used this to propel them to the win.

Game two was very mainly controlled by Aquinas as they held a gold lead from the three minute mark until the end of the game. Lourdes was able to keep the game relatively close for a while despite the deficit. However, a 5-0 fight win by the Saints around the dragon pit clinched the game and series win for Aquinas.
