Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The penultimate week of the regular season has arrived for Lourdes and with it comes the beginning of a key three-match homestand.  The Gray Wolves entertain Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday afternoon before celebrating Senior Day with a Saturday matinee versus Lawrence Tech.

Head Coach Matt Johnson: Matt Johnson took over as the second head coach in program's history prior to the 2019 season.  Johnson sports a 97-109-10 (.472) record overall in his 11th season as a men's collegiate soccer coach and has a 22-25-1 (.469) mark in his second year at Lourdes.

Series Notes: Northwestern Ohio is 6-0 all-time against Lourdes in a series that dates back to Sept. 26, 2015.  The Racers downed the Gray Wolves 2-0 in Lima, Ohio on March 8, 2021 in the last meeting between the two schools.  UNOH holds a 2-0 series edge at Wildcat Stadium.  Lawrence Tech holds a 5-1 all-time advantage against Lourdes in a series that began Oct. 3, 2015.  The Blue Devils have won the last five meetings between the two schools after a 4-3 victory in Southfield, Mich. on Oct. 17, 2020.  Lawrence Tech holds a 2-1 series edge at Wildcat Stadium.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Madonna scored twice just 2:18 apart midway through the first half on Wednesday as the Crusaders downed the Gray Wolves 2-0.  Igor Silva made five saves in goal for the Gray Wolves.  On Saturday, Farouk Amoo scored the match-winner with 17:23 to play as Lourdes defeated Rochester (Mich.) 2-1.  Savio Adams scored the first goal for the Gray Wolves while Silva went the distance in goal.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers are unbeaten (4-0-1) in their last five matches after a 2-0 victory at Aquinas on Saturday.  Mortiz Guettel leads Northwestern Ohio with four goals and four assists for 12 points on the year.  Thomas Echevarria, Adam Hanson, and Gustavo Moses have each scored three times this season.  In goal, Rafael Lima has played nearly 990 minutes, sporting a 1.46 goals against average and a .543 save percentage.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the week having won back-to-back matches after a 4-0 victory at home against Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday.  Lawrence Tech heads to Rochester (Mich.) on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Andrian Miling leads the Blue Devils offensively with six goals and 12 points.  Skander Larfoui has handed out a team-leading four assists.  In goal, Riley Alexander has been the mainstay, sporting a 2.00 goals against average and a .486 save percentage.

Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor the 10 members of its 2021 senior class prior to kickoff of Saturday's match against Lawrence Tech.  Concluding their careers as Gray Wolves over the next few weeks are Garrett Baxley, Jared Poslaiko, Ben Noud, Savio Adams, Olawole Ogunsanya, Farouk Amoo, Robert Pereznegron, Cameron Poslaiko, Amin Elbashir, and Jose Silveira.

Fighting For a Postseason Berth: With four matches remaining in the regular season, Lourdes is battling for a spot in the upcoming WHAC tournament.  The Gray Wolves are currently tied for seventh place, with the top eight schools earning a spot in the postseason event.  The Gray Wolves enter the week five points out of fourth place, with the top four schools at the end of the regular season getting the opportunity to host a quarterfinal match.

Amoo Matches Career Scoring Mark: Farouk Amoo scored his 21st goal over his four years with the Gray Wolves against Rochester (Mich.), moving him into a tie with Jake Kirchoff-Sleet's (2015-2016) atop the school's career scoring list.  Amoo has 50 career points, second most all-time at Lourdes, just two behind Kirchoff-Sleet for the school record as well as well.

Climbing the Single Season Charts: With his 11th goal of the season against Rochester (Mich.), Farouk Amoo is now tied for second on the Gray Wolves' single season goals list.  He has matched Judah Goodridge's 2017 total of 11 goals, trailing only Jake Kirchoff-Sleet's school mark of 13 goals in 2016.  Amoo's 25 total points also ranks second on the single season list, trailing Kirchoff-Sleet's 2016 total of 32 points.

Adams Moving on Up: Savio Adams scored his 10th career goal at Lourdes on Saturday at Rochester (Mich.), tying him with Reece Riccardi (2016-2019) for fourth on the school's single season charts.  Adams also has 28 career points, fourth most all-time at Lourdes.  Adams is also tied with Farouk Amoo for third on the career assist list with eight as well.

Lots of Matches: Olawole Ogunsanya has played in a school-record 71 matches during his time with the Gray Wolves.  He holds the school record for all-time appearances while Jose Silveira ranks second with 64 matches played.  Robert Pereznegron has moved into second place all-time for starts wearing the terra cotta and black. Pereznegron has been in the starting XI 50 times, two shy of Brendon Long's (2018-2020) school record of 52 starts.  N'Faly Diallo now ranks third with 49 career starts.

Mixing Up the Lineup: Lourdes has used a variety of combinations in their starting 11 this year.  A total of 22 different players have drawn at least one starting assignment, with only N'Faly Diallo earning the starting nod in all 11 matches.

Team Captains: Savio Adams, Cameron Poslaiko, and Jose Silveira are serving as the Gray Wolves' captains for the second straight season.

This and That: A total of 15 different Lourdes players have recorded at least one point this year with eight different goal scorers ... Igor Silva has matched the school's single season record with three shutouts this season ... the Gray Wolves have trailed at halftime just once this season.
