Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: After more than three months off, Lourdes resumes its men's soccer season on Monday afternoon. The Gray Wolves head indoors to Total Sports in Rossford, Ohio to battle Holy Cross (Ind.) in a non-conference match.
Head Coach Matt Johnson: Matt Johnson took over as the second head coach in program's history prior to the 2019 season. Johnson sports an 86-100-8 (.464) record overall in his 11th season as a men's collegiate soccer coach and has an 11-16 (.407) mark in his second year at Lourdes.
Series Notes: Lourdes and Holy Cross (Ind.) are meeting on the pitch for the first time in men's soccer on Monday.
Wrapping Up Last Time Out: Rochester (Mich.) scored less than six minutes into the second half to take the lead on Oct. 31, but Lourdes answered with a pair of goals over the next nine minutes to defeat the Warriors 2-1 at Wildcat Stadium.

Scouting Holy Cross (Ind.): The Saints are opening their season on Monday after posting a 12-5-2 record overall and a 7-3-2 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference last season. Holy Cross returns 13 players from last year's roster, with Jeff Rafter being the team's top returning scorer. He tallied six goals for the Saints one year ago. In goal, Lewis Tomlinson played nearly every minutes, sporting a 1.13 goals against average and an .825 save percentage.
First Career Goal: Kevin Gonzalez's match-winning tally against Rochester (Mich.) in the final game of the fall marked his first collegiate goal. He had an assist earlier in the match for his first collegiate point as well.
A Change to the Record: When Lourdes ended the fall season, the Gray Wolves thought they were 5-4 overall and 3-2 in WHAC play. However, during the winter break, the match at Siena Heights that the Gray Wolves originally lost was declared a forfeit by the Saints giving Lourdes an extra win, and three points, in the standings.
New Faces: Lourdes has added five new international players to its roster for the upcoming spring campaign.

Moustapha Merhi is from Lebanon.
Sebastian Bogarin and
Ariel Ramirez Rios both are natives of Paraguay and
Federico Reali is from Italy.
Moving Up Single Season Charts: Just halfway through 2020 season, this year's Lourdes squad already ranks fifth in program history with 16 goals and 13 assists along with 45 total points. The two shutouts also are tied for fifth for a single season.
Chokr Matches School Shutout Mark: Ali Chokr tied the Lourdes record with his seventh career shutout this fall, matching the mark set by
Jose Cedillo (2015-2017). Chokr had two clean sheets as a freshman, three last year, and already has a pair in four starts this season.
Elsewhere on the All-Time Charts: Ali Chokr also ranks second in program history in minutes played in goal, saves, and goals against average. Chokr enters this week's action with 160 career saves, 14 shy of
Jose Cedillo's (2015-2017) mark of 174, and his 1.91 career goals against average just trails Cedillo's all-time mark of 1.69. Chokr is also approximately 370 minutes shy of Cedillo's minutes played mark of 3192:12.
Moving Into the Top-10: Brendon Long has joined teammates
Farouk Amoo and
Savio Adams in a tie for eighth all-time in scoring along with Isamnia Coehn (2016). The quartet have all scored six career goals with the Gray Wolves.
Lots of Experience: Olawole Ogunsanya has moved into second place in program history having appeared in 51 career matches. He trails only
Reece Riccardi (2016-2019), who appeared in 57 matches, on the Gray Wolves' all-time list.
Jose Silveira has moved into sixth all-time for the Gray Wolves, having stepped onto the pitch 46 times for Lourdes, one behind
Riley Hogan's (2015-2018) total.
Brendon Long just past Goodridge for second place all-time at Lourdes having made 43 career starts. Riccardi holds the starts record as well with 48.
A Different Look This Season: Due to COVID-19, five schools in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opted to not play soccer this fall, moving all of their matches to the spring. The remaining seven league schools are playing a split season, having all played at least three matches in the fall. The WHAC tournament and NAIA National Championships will take place in the spring.
Team Captains: Lourdes has tri-captains for the 2020 season. Serving in the Gray Wolves' leadership role are seniors
Savio Adams and
Jose Silveira along with junior
Cameron Poslaiko. All three are first time captains for Lourdes.
This and That: Lourdes had 26 different players step foot on the pitch during the fall ... 18 different players have drawn a starting assignment ... after five overtime matches in 2019, Lourdes has yet to play more than 90 minutes this season.
