Lourdes (7-5, 4-2 WHAC)
Match #13: Saturday, March 20, 4 p.m. EDT
vs. #12 Indiana Tech (11-0, 7-0 WHAC)
Wildcat Stadium - Sylvania, Ohio

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes returns to the pitch for just the second time in nearly a month on Saturday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host 12th-ranked Indiana Tech at Wildcat Stadium.  The Gray Wolves are looking to bounce back from a loss 12 days ago at Northwestern Ohio.

Head Coach Matt Johnson: Matt Johnson took over as the second head coach in program's history prior to the 2019 season.  Johnson sports an 88-101-8 (.467) record overall in his 11th season as a men's collegiate soccer coach and has an 13-17 (.433) mark in his second year at Lourdes.

Series Notes: Indiana Tech holds a 3-1-1 series advantage against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 17, 2015.  The Warriors won the last meeting between the two schools 3-0 last season in Fort Wayne, Ind.  The series is knotted 1-1-1 all-time at Wildcat Stadium following a scoreless double-overtime draw during the 2018 campaign.

Wrapping Up Last Time Out: Ninth-ranked Northwestern Ohio scored early in each half on March 8 as the Racers defeated the Gray Wolves 2-0 in Lima, Ohio.  Lourdes managed just three shot attempts in the contest, only one of which was on goal.  Ali Chokr made three saves in net for the Gray Wolves in the loss.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors remained undefeated with a 2-0 victory over Madonna on Wednesday afternoon to improve to 11-0 on the season.  Noe Garcia leads Indiana Tech with 13 goals and six assists for 32 total points.  Maxwell Amoako has added five goals and has tallied a team-leading nine assists for 19 points on the year.  In goal, Jaume Salvado has played a majority of the minutes, sporting a 0.29 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.  Indiana Tech has yielded just three goals in 11 contests this year.

Facing Ranked Foes: Lourdes is battling NAIA top-25 opponents in back-to-back matches for the first time in program history.  The Gray Wolves fell 2-0 to ninth-ranked Northwestern Ohio in their last outing on March 8 and now will tackle 12th-ranked Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon.  Lourdes is 0-7-1 all-time against ranked foes, having played third-ranked Davenport to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 24, 2016.

Another Schedule Change: The postponement against Cleary on Wednesday afternoon was the fourth match this season that has been altered.  The Gray Wolves will make up the contest against the Cougars on Thursday (March 25) in Howell, Mich.  Lourdes also made up a postponement of an Indiana East match from the fall this spring while contests against Goshen and Thomas More were both cancelled.

A Bunched Race: Having just passed the midway point of the WHAC schedule, Lourdes is in a three-way tie for third in the standings.  The Gray Wolves are just one point out of second place heading into the weekend.

A Defender Leads the Scoring Race: Brendon Long leads the Gray Wolves in scoring this season with six goals, including a pair of match-winners.  He has converted a pair of penalty kicks among his scoring this season, while also tallying goals off of set pieces and corner kicks.  He also has an assist for a team-high 13 points.  Long is one goal shy of moving onto the top-five list for goals in a single season at Lourdes.

Handing Out Assists: Savio Adams has five assists this season, tied for second on the Gray Wolves' single season chart with Ian Vidalon (2016) and Adilson Darosa (2017).  Adams needs just one more helper to tie the single season record of six set by Jake Kirchoff-Sleet during the 2016 campaign.

A Change to the Record: When Lourdes ended the fall season, the Gray Wolves thought they were 5-4 overall and 3-2 in WHAC play.  However, during the winter break, the match at Siena Heights that the Gray Wolves originally lost was declared a forfeit by the Saints giving Lourdes an extra win, and three points, in the standings.

Moving Up Single Season Charts: With five matches remaining on the schedule, this year's Lourdes squad already ranks fourth in program history with 19 goals and 53 points while ranking fifth with 15 assists.  The two shutouts also are tied for fifth for a single season.

Chokr Matches School Shutout Mark: Ali Chokr tied the Lourdes record with his seventh career shutout this past fall, matching the mark set by Jose Cedillo (2015-2017).  Chokr had two clean sheets as a freshman, three last year, and already has a pair this season.

Elsewhere on the All-Time Charts: Ali Chokr also ranks second in program history in minutes played in goal, saves, and goals against average.  Chokr enters this week's action with 163 career saves, 11 shy of Jose Cedillo's (2015-2017) mark of 174, and his 1.92 career goals against average just trails Cedillo's all-time mark of 1.69.  Chokr is also approximately 280 minutes shy of Cedillo's minutes played mark of 3192:12.

Lots of Experience: Olawole Ogunsanya has moved into second place in program history having appeared in 54 career matches.  He trails only Reece Riccardi (2016-2019), who appeared in 57 matches, on the Gray Wolves' all-time list.  Jose Silveira has moved into third all-time for the Gray Wolves, having stepped onto the pitch 49 times for Lourdes.  Brendon Long ranks place all-time at Lourdes having made 46 career starts.  Riccardi holds the starts record as well with 48.

Team Captains: Lourdes has tri-captains for the 2020 season.  Serving in the Gray Wolves' leadership role are seniors Savio Adams and Jose Silveira along with junior Cameron Poslaiko.  All three are first time captains for Lourdes.

This and That: Lourdes has had 32 different players step foot on the pitch this season ... 22 different players have drawn a starting assignment ... after five overtime matches in 2019, Lourdes has yet to play more than 90 minutes this season.
