Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Having won three consecutive matches, Lourdes will wrap up its brief two-match road trip on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves head to nationally-ranked Indiana Tech.  The Gray Wolves will return home on Saturday to entertain Michigan-Dearborn as the month of October opens.

Head Coach Matt Johnson: Matt Johnson took over as the second head coach in program's history prior to the 2019 season.  Johnson sports a 96-106-9 (.476) record overall in his 11th season as a men's collegiate soccer coach and has a 21-22-1 (.489) mark in his second year at Lourdes.

Series Notes: Indiana Tech leads the all-time series against Lourdes 3-1-2 dating back to Oct. 17, 2015.  The two sides battled to a double-overtime 1-1 draw in their last meeting on March 20, 2021 at Wildcat Stadium.  Indiana Tech is 2-0 against the Gray Wolves in Fort Wayne, Ind.  Lourdes holds a 4-2 advantage all-time against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that began Oct. 3, 2015.  The Gray Wolves won the most recent meeting, a 2-1 triumph in Riverview, Mich. on April 2, 2021.  The Wolverines hold a 2-0 series edge at Wildcat Stadium though.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Farouk Amoo registered a hat trick and Savio Adams added a goal as Lourdes opened WHAC play with a 4-2 victory on the road at Siena Heights.  Amoo started the scoring just 1:22 into the contest and added his final goal with just 50 ticks remaining on the clock.  In goal, Igor Silva made one save in the victory.

Scouting Indiana Tech: The Warriors have won three straight matches following a 2-1 victory at Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday (Sept. 25).  Maxwell Amoako leads Indiana Tech with five goals and 11 points on the year.  Lucca Motta also has 11 points for the Warriors, having handed out a team-high five assists to go along with three goals.  In net, Jaume Salvado has played every minute, sporting a 0.73 goals against average and a .760 save percentage.

Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines enter the week coming off a 2-1 overtime setback at home against ninth-ranked Indiana Tech on Saturday (Sept. 25).  Michigan-Dearborn heads to Lawrence Tech on Wednesday before visiting Lourdes.  Vito Serra leads the Wolverines in scoring this season with three goals.  

A Scoring Machine: With the four-goal outburst on Saturday at Siena Heights, the Gray Wolves have scored four or more goals four times in the first eight matches of the year.  The 24 goals scored this year are tied with the 2015 squad for the fourth highest output in a single season in program history.

Registering Hat Tricks: Farouk Amoo recorded his second hat trick in the last three matches for the Gray Wolves in the victory over Siena Heights.  Amoo now has three hat tricks in her career, most by any Lourdes player in program history.   Amoo has scored a total of eight goals over his last three matches for the Gray Wolves, giving him the team lead with nine tallies and 21 total points this season.  

Welcome Back Savio: Savio Adams made his season debut for the Gray Wolves on Saturday at Siena Heights and immediately made an impact with the offense.  He curled in a free kick around the wall for his first goal of the season while adding an assist on the team's second goal of the night.

Handing Out Assists: Andris Klempert and Farouk Amoo share the team lead with three assists each this season.  A total of 15 different Gray Wolves have dished out at least one helper through the first eight contests.

Solid in Goal: Igor Silva, who had played a total of eight seconds in his career prior to this season, has had a strong start in 2021.  He has played 630 minutes between the posts this year for the Gray Wolves and sports a 1.29 goals against average on the year.  He has made 20 saves for a .690 save percentage.  Silva also has a pair of shutouts to his credit in his seven matches.

Mixing Up the Lineup: Lourdes has used a variety of combinations in their starting 11 this year.  A total of 19 different players have drawn at least one starting assignment, with only N'Faly Diallo earning the starting nod in all eight matches.

Amoo Third All-Time in Scoring: Farouk Amoo has scored 19 goals over his four years with the Gray Wolves, moving him into a tie with Judah Goodridge (2015-2017) for second on the career scoring list.  He is two goals shy of Jake Kirchoff-Sleet's (2015-2016) school record of 21 career goals.  

Adams and Amoo Rank Third in Assists: Savio Adams and Farouk Amoo are tied for third all-time at Lourdes with eight career assists.  They duo are each one behind Akilla Arno's (2015-2017) second place mark of nine helpers and two behind school record-holder Jake Kirchoff-Sleet (2015-2016).

Gray Wolves Tabbed Fifth in WHAC Preseason Poll: Lourdes was selected to finish in fifth place in the WHAC this season in the preseason poll conducted of the league's head coaches.  The Gray Wolves were picked just behind fourth place Madonna.  Indiana Tech was the unanimous selection to win the league crown.

Team Captains: Savio Adams, Cameron Poslaiko, and Jose Silveira are serving as the Gray Wolves' captains for the second straight season.

This and That: The Gray Wolves are 0-7-2 all-time against NAIA top-25 opponents, earning a 1-1 draw with #12 Indiana Tech in their last such match on March 20, 2021 ... 15 different Lourdes players have recorded at least one point this year with eight different goal scorers ... the Gray Wolves are outscoring opponents 10-3 in the opening 45 minutes.
