Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The final week of the regular season has arrived with Lourdes men's soccer team clinging to eight place in the WHAC standings. The Gray Wolves look to remain in the top-eight to qualify for the WHAC tournament wrapping up the campaign at Cleary on Wednesday and at Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday.
Head Coach Matt Johnson: Matt Johnson took over as the second head coach in program's history prior to the 2019 season. Johnson sports a 103-120-14 (.464) record overall in his 12th season as a men's collegiate soccer coach and has a 28-36-5 (.442) mark in his second year at Lourdes.
Series Notes: Lourdes and Cleary have split six previous meetings 3-3 dating back to Sept. 12, 2015. The Gray Wolves snapped the Cougars' three-match winning streak in the series with an 8-4 triumph in Howell, Mich. on March 25, 2021 as part of the 2020 season that carried into the spring of 2021. Lourdes holds a 2-1 series edge in Howell. The Gray Wolves are 4-3 all-time against Michigan-Dearborn in a series that began Oct. 3, 2015. The Wolverines won last season's meeting 2-1 at Wildcat Stadium. The road team has won all seven matches in the series.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Concordia (Mich.) scored the lone goal of the match in the 30th minutes and defeated Lourdes 1-0 on Wednesday in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Gray Wolves outshot the Cardinals 26-3 for the match but were unable to find the equalizer.
Igor Silva made one save in goal. On Saturday, Lourdes scored three times in the second half to defeat Siena Heights 3-0 at home.

Martin Coronel, and
Leon Eisert all tallied goals while Silva made three saves in net.
Scouting Cleary: The Cougars have lost four straight matches after falling 2-0 to Aquinas on Saturday. Lesman Morazan leads Cleary in scoring with six goals and 12 total points while Dillon Croft has found the back of the net three times for six points. Vaios Papadoudis has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Cougars. He sports a 1.94 goals against average and a .729 save percentage.
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines are unbeaten (3-0-1) in their last four matches after a 1-1 draw at Indiana Tech on Saturday. Michigan-Dearborn faces Siena Heights on Wednesday before hosting Lourdes. Christian Cole leads the Wolverines with seven goals and 16 total points. Robi Redzick has a team-high three assists. In goal, Elijah Burlak has played every minutes, posting a 1.56 goals against average and a .755 save percentage.
Fighting for Postseason: Lourdes enters the final two matches of the season in eighth place in the WHAC standings, with the top-eight qualifying for the conference tournament. The Gray Wolves are just two points out of sixth place in the league ledger though, but are also only one point ahead of ninth place and two points up on 10th heading into the final week.
Looking for First Road Triumph: Lourdes has yet to win a match away from Wildcat Stadium this season, having earned just one draw (at Goshen) in eight tries this season. The Gray Wolves' last road victory came on Oct. 30, 2021 in the regular season finale at Cornerstone last season, 3-2.
Pitching a Shutout: Lourdes notched its third shutout of the season in the victory over Siena Heights on Saturday.
Igor Silva and
Jorge Mendoza combined on the clean sheet, the first shared shutout of the season for the Gray Wolves.
Alex Brock tallied the first two shutouts of the year.
Spreading Out the Scoring: Lourdes has four different players that have each found the back of the net at least three times this season.
Anthony Samuel leads the way with five goals.
Jonas Kreutzberg has tallied three goals, all match-winners this season.

Leon Eisert both tallied their third goals of the year on Saturday against Siena Heights.
Cracking the Career Points List: Lourdes has four active players in the top-10 in program history in career points entering the week.
Leon Eisert leads the way in fifth place with 30 over his three seasons, having scored 10 times while adding 10 assists. His 10 helpers are tied for the program record while his 10 goals rank fifth on the all-time chart.
Hussein Sbeiti has 22 points on eight goals and six assists, good for seventh all-time, while
Anthony Samuel and
Diego Pereira are tied for ninth with 20 points each.
Lots of Appearances: N'Faly Diallo and
Robert Pereznegron rank one-two on the Gray Wolves' career matches played list. Diallo has seen action in 78 contests, two more than Pereznegron, over the past five seasons. The duo also share the school mark for career starts, each having made 62 while wearing the terra cotta and black.
Mixing Up Starting Combinations: A total of 23 different Gray Wolves have earned at least one starting assignment in 2022.
Jonas Kreutzberg is the lone player to be penciled into the starting 11 in all 16 matches this season for Lourdes. In fact, only five players have appeared in every contest this season.
