Box Score Lourdes tipped off the 2022-2023 season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Wilberforce 87-73 on the road inside Gaston Lewis Gymnasium in Wilberforce, Ohio.
 
"This was a game where we can't really get a feel for our team because of how they played, pressing us the whole game," head coach Dennis Hopson said afterwards.  "We were reckless at times and need to be more disciplined and getting better play on the inside."
 
The Gray Wolves led 47-36 at halftime and led by as many as 18 in the second half.  The Bulldogs closed to within one with about five minutes to play before Lourdes pulled away down the stretch.
 
Clif Snow (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown H.S.) led the way for the Gray Wolves with 17 points while Jackie Harris (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Francis de Sales H.S.) added 16 points.  Joey Holifield (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) chipped in 15 points and Marcus Larsson (Oslo, Norway/Wang Toppidrettsgymnas) tallied 14 points.  Charles Swain (Cincinnati, Ohio/North College Hill H.S.) and Little Anderson (Toledo, Ohio/Cardinal Stritch H.S.) each added 10 points as Lourdes finished with six players in double figures.

Lourdes (1-0) will open the home portion of its schedule next Saturday, Nov. 5, as the Gray Wolves host Adrian on Homecoming weekend.  Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. inside the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
