Upcoming in Gray Wolves Lacrosse: The non-conference portion of the schedule comes to a close on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Mount Vernon Nazarene. Lourdes will open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Concordia (Mich.).
Head Coach Patrick Yannarelli: In his ninth season on the Lourdes bench,
Patrick Yannarelli has a 69-37 (.651) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. Yannarelli was named the NAIA National Coach of the Year in 2016. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes won the only previous contest against Mount Vernon Nazarene 12-4 on March 4, 2021 at Wildcat Stadium. The Gray Wolves are 3-1 all-time against Concordia (Mich.) in a series that began March 22, 2017. The Cardinals downed Lourdes for the first time last season, 10-8, at Wildcat Stadium. Lourdes won the only previous meeting in Ann Arbor, Mich. in 2018.
Wrapping Up Last Week (or Two Weeks Ago): The Gray Wolves scored 10 of the final 11 goals on March 9 to defeat Saint Andrews 16-5 in a neutral site game played in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Nick Johnson, and
Tyler Pezzot all scored four times for Lourdes while
George Hoexum made five saves in goal. On March 11, the Gray Wolves led at halftime before Tennessee Wesleyan rallied for a 12-6 win over Lourdes.
Kyle Schiel scored three times for the Gray Wolves while Hoexum made eight stops.
Scouting Mount Vernon Nazarene: The Cougars have won two straight games after a 15-2 triumph at Wilmington on Monday night. Ian Ranck has scored a team-leading 18 goals this year and has 29 total points. Brent Townsend has a team-high 31 points, including 22 assists. Johnny Grumney has found the back of the cage eight times. In goal, Joshua Hageman has played a majority of the minutes, sporting a 5.14 goals against average and a .664 save percentage.
Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals are still in search of their first victory of the season after suffering a 10-5 loss at Saint Ambrose on March 16. Andrew Simmons leads Concordia with nine goals and 12 points while Marcus Villagomez has tallied five goals. Sam Bowling has played nearly every minute in goal, sporting a 12.59 goals against average and a .541 save percentage.

On the Scoring Lists: Nick Johnson and
Chad Causley rank ninth and 10th respectively in career points at Lourdes. Johnson has 74 dating back to 2019 while Causley has 68 since arriving with the Gray Wolves in 2018. Johnson is also tied for sixth with 58 career goals while Causley is seventh all-time with 26 career assists.
Hoexum Settling In the Cage: George Hoexum has made 13 saves over his first two collegiate games for the Gray Wolves in goal, posting an 8.50 goals against average. He has played all 120 minutes thus far as a rookie with a .433 save percentage.
At the X: Ezequel Ceant has taken 33 faceoffs as a freshman for the Gray Wolves, winning 16 of them.
Tyler Pezzot has also spent time at the X, winning 8-of-9.
