Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: Lourdes ends a 10-game homestand this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders at Mercy Field.  They Gray Wolves host Cleary on Friday afternoon in a make-up of a postponement from March 26 before entertaining Cornerstone on Saturday afternoon.

Head Coach Josh Bradford: In his third season in the Lourdes dugout, Josh Bradford has a 46-47 (.495) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Probable Starters: Jagger Geck (LHP, 1-0, 8.31) is tentatively scheduled to start the opener of Friday's doubleheader against Cleary for the Gray Wolves.  Lourdes has not decided on a game two starter against the Cougars at this time.  On Saturday, Caleb Loboschefski (RHP, 3-2, 5.45) and Joey Oehlers (LHP ,4-1, 3.41) are expected to be handed the baseball versus Lawrence Tech.

Series Notes: Cleary holds a 9-7 all-time advantage against the Gray Wolves in a series that began March 14, 2015.  The two schools split a pair of games at Mercy Field last season, with the Cougars taking the opener 15-10 before Lourdes bounced back for a game two win 5-1.  Cornerstone is 14-11 all-time against Lourdes dating back to the initial meeting on April 5, 2013.  The Golden Eagles swept a doubleheader last season in Grand Rapids, Mich., winning by scores of 11-10 and 13-9.

Wrapping Up Last Week: On Apr. 5, Lourdes dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Mount Vernon Nazarene 12-3 and 7-1.  The Gray Wolves managed just 10 hits on the afternoon while seven errors led to eight unearned runs combined.  Lourdes fell on Sunday (Apr. 10) in a doubleheader to Lawrence Tech 6-0 and 2-1.  The Gray Wolves had just five hits in the opener before Steve Haugh had a three-hit game in the nightcap.  Joey Oehlers allowed just two runs and six hits in 7.2 innings in game two.  Josh Hare's walk-off double in game one on Tuesday lifted Lourdes to an 8-7 victory over Michigan-Dearborn.  Haugh had three RBI while Austin Ford pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the win.  In game two, Lourdes managed just four hits in a 3-1 setback to the Wolverines.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars enter the weekend having dropped seven straight after falling 10-7 and 8-0 to Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday.  Derek Zavala leads Cleary batting .337 on the season with four home runs and 18 runs batted in.  Aaron Dyke is hitting .317 while Jeremy VanOosterum has a team-high 27 RBI.  The Cleary pitching staff sports a 6.88 earned run average and teams are hitting .285 against the Cougars this season.

Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles enter the weekend having dropped five of their last six games after splitting a doubleheader with Northwestern Ohio on Tuesday, winning the opener 6-5 before falling in game two 10-0.  Cornerstone is at Lawrence Tech on Thursday before heading to Lourdes.  Jake Collins leads the Golden Eagles batting .408 on the season with six home runs and 30 runs batted in.  Austin Hurt is hitting .388 with a team-high 10 long balls and 33 RBI.  The Cornerstone pitching staff sports an 8.29 ERA and opponents are hitting .293 against them.

Weather a Big Issue This Season: The Gray Wolves have had 11 games affected by weather already this season.  Lourdes has had five games cancelled without making them up while three league doubleheaders have been postponed and played at a later date.  The Cleary twinbill on Friday is the last of the make-up games to this point in the season.

Nearing the School Mark: Lourdes has reached the 20-win plateau for just the second time in program history.  The Gray Wolves are nearing the school record for wins in a season, set by the 2018 squad which finished the year 22-23.  With 21 wins entering the weekend, Lourdes needs just one more to tie the mark and two more to reset the record.

Haugh Leading the Charge: Steve Haugh is making the most of his first season in a Lourdes uniform.  The sophomore transfer has a team-high 36 hits, is batting .336, and paces the squad with 27 runs batted in.  He also ranks second with nine doubles and three home runs.

Bats Quiet on Homestand: Lourdes is in the midst of its longest homestand of the season, 10 games, but the bats have been quiet over the first six games.  The Gray Wolves are batting just .221 and averaging only six hits per game while going 1-5 during the stretch.  Lourdes has drawn just 11 walks in the six games as well for a .275 on base percentage.

Oehlers Solid on the Mound: Joey Oehlers continues to be solid on the hill this season.  The southpaw leads the team with a 4-1 record and sports a 3.41 earned run average over 31.2 innings of work.  He has struck out 27 and walked just five while limiting opponents to a .221 batting average.

Streaking: Josh Hare has extended his hitting streak to eight straight games and has reached base safely in his last 18 contests.  Caleb Dugan currently has a seven-game hitting streak going and has reached base safely in his last 10 appearances.

This and That: Not one Gray Wolf has appeared in all 34 games this season, with only Steve Haugh playing in, and starting 33 of them ... Lourdes has committed just 39 errors this season, fielding at a .962 clip, but the miscues have led to 26 unearned runs ... following the homestand, the Gray Wolves will take to the road for seven consecutive games before concluding the year at home on April 30.
