Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: The 2022 baseball season comes to a close for Lourdes this week as the Gray Wolves play their final three games. Lourdes heads to Ohio Christian on Tuesday for a non-conference game before celebrating Senior Day on Saturday at home entertaining Siena Heights in a doubleheader.
Head Coach Josh Bradford: In his third season in the Lourdes dugout,
Josh Bradford has a 48-55 (.466) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach. He is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Probable Starters: Jake Boyd (LHP, 3-5, 5.34) is scheduled to make the start for the Gray Wolves on Tuesday afternoon for the non-conference tilt at Ohio Christian. On Saturday,
Joey Oehlers (LHP, 4-3, 6.53) is slated to start one of the games of the doubleheader against Siena Heights while the other probable starter has yet to be determined.
Series Notes: Lourdes and Ohio Christian will be meeting on the diamond for the first time ever on Tuesday afternoon. Siena Heights holds a 17-12 series advantage against Lourdes dating back to April 5, 2012. The Gray Wolves have won the last four games between the two schools though, including an 8-1 and 9-2 sweep of a doubleheader last season in Adrian, Mich. The Saints hold a 10-4 all-time edge in games played at Mercy Field.
Wrapping Up Last Week: In a pair of pitcher's duals on Tuesday, Point Park came on top in both games of a doubleheader, defeating Lourdes 2-1 and 3-1 in Pennsylvania in non-conference action. The Gray Wolves returned to WHAC play on Saturday, falling twice to 21st-ranked Northwestern Ohio by scores of 19-2 and 14-3. The week concluded on Sunday at Indiana Tech, as Lourdes fell to the Warriors on a walk-off double in the seventh of game one 9-8 before defeating the Gray Wolves 21-15 in game two.
Scouting Ohio Christian: The Trailblazers won the final game of the three-game weekend set with Midway on Sunday 5-2 after falling 11-4 and 12-3 in games one and two of the series. Colton Lee leads Ohio Christian batting .306 on the season with five home runs and 17 runs batted in on an offense that is hitting .224 as a team. Jarod Hamlin also has five homers and a team-high 22 RBI. The Trailblazers pitching staff sports an 8.38 earned run average this season while opponents are batting .334 against them.
Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints enter the week having dropped four straight games after being swept in a doubleheader at Northwestern Ohio on Sunday by scores of 13-12 and 10-3. Siena Heights travels to Point Park on Tuesday for a doubleheader before visiting Lourdes. Cameron Hammer leads the Saints offensively, batting 333 with 32 runs batted in. Cole VanWasshenova has a .319 batting average with a pair of home runs while Kenny Layman has driven in 27 runs for an offense hitting .258 as a team. The Saints pitching staff sports a 7.61 earned run average with opponents batting .297 against Siena Heights.
Thanks Seniors: Prior to Saturday's doubleheader against Siena Heights, the Gray Wolves will honor the nine members of their 2022 senior class.

Setting the School Mark: Lourdes has reached the 20-win plateau for just the second time in program history. The Gray Wolves set a new school record for wins in a season with their 23rd victory of the season against Cornerstone on April 16. They surpassed the previous mark of 22 set by the 2018 squad which finished the year 22-23. Lourdes is now looking to finish the year over .500 for the first time in program history, needing one win this week to secure the feat.
Haugh Leading the Charge: Steve Haugh is making the most of his first season in a Lourdes uniform. The sophomore transfer has a team-high 47 hits, is batting .343, and paces the squad with 36 runs batted in. He is also tied for the team lead with 10 doubles and leads the squad with six home runs after hitting three last week. He has 18 total extra base hits and is slugging .577 with a .462 on base percentage on the season.
Hitting for Average: Lourdes has six players with 75 or more at bats this season that are hitting over .300 on the season.
Steve Haugh leads the way with a .343 average while
Matt McEachern swings the bat at a .320 clip.

Josh Hare (.302) all have the ability to finish the season batting .300 or higher for the year.
Streaking: Steve Haugh has reached base safely in his last 15 games, the second longest streak of the season for a Gray Wolf.
Josh Hare had his 21-game on base streak snapped in game two against Cornerstone on April 16.
Brad Ammons owns the team's longest active hitting streak, beginning the week having hit safely in his last five games. Hare has the team's longest streak of the year, an 11-game hitting streak earlier this season.
This and That: Not one Gray Wolf has appeared in all 44 games this season, with only
Steve Haugh playing in, and starting, 43 of them ... Caleb Lobschefski has all three of the pitching staff's complete games this year ...
Joey Oehlers and
