Upcoming in Gray Wolves Lacrosse: Postseason lacrosse has arrived for Lourdes University.  The sixth-seeded Gray Wolves head to Siena Heights on Tuesday evening for the quarterfinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.
 
Head Coach Patrick Yannarelli: In his ninth season on the Lourdes bench, Patrick Yannarelli has a 74-42 (.638) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  Yannarelli was named the NAIA National Coach of the Year in 2016.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Siena Heights holds a 6-4 all-time advantage against Lourdes in a series that dates back to March 26, 2014.  The Saints won the regular season meeting against the Gray Wolves 13-12 on March 30 at Wildcat Stadium and have won three of the last four meetings overall between the two schools.  Siena Heights holds a 4-2 edge all-time in games played in Adrian, Mich.  This will be the first meeting between Lourdes and Siena Heights in the WHAC tournament.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes began the final week of the regular season dropping a 15-11 decision at 10th-ranked Lawrence Tech on Wednesday evening.  Tyler Pezzot and Nick Johnson each scored four times for the Gray Wolves while George Hoexum made 12 saves in goal.  On Saturday, Lourdes battled back from a five-goal deficit in the third quarter to tie the game with less than three minutes to play only to see Taylor answer with the game-winning goal with 47 seconds remaining as the Trojans notched a 14-13 win.  Pezzot and Johnson again and four goals each while Hoexum made 11 stops in the cage.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints enter the WHAC tournament following a 19-10 victory at home against Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon.  Jake Gallaher leads Siena Heights with 48 goals and 67 total points while Eric Csizmadia has added 43 goals and 55 points.  Garnet Potter has handed out a team-leading 25 assists on the year.  In goal, Vinnie Jean has played all but 49 minutes this season, sporting a 9.64 goals against average and a .588 save percentage.

Lourdes in the WHAC Tournament: The Gray Wolves are 3-2 all-time in the WHAC tournament, making their fourth appearance all-time.  Lourdes won the title in 2017.  In 2019, the Gray Wolves fell in the quarterfinals before advancing to the semifinals in 2021.  Last year Lourdes won its quarterfinal game at home against Madonna 12-4 before falling in the semis at Indiana Tech 17-10.

A .500 Season: Lourdes has secured at least a .500 record for the seventh consecutive season and eighth time in the program's nine years.  The only time the Gray Wolves did not finish .500 or better was in 2015 (4-7).

A Tight Scoring Race: Tyler Pezzot and Nick Johnson hold a one-point lead over Chad Causley for the team's scoring lead with 39 points each.  Pezzot also leads Lourdes with 29 goals, two more than Johnson, while Causley has a team-high 19 assists.  

On the Career List: Nick Johnson has moved into fifth place on Lourdes career points list with 108, passing Dylan Gill (2014-2016).  Johnson is 11 points behind Cory Campbell (2017-2021) for fourth on the all-time chart. Chad Causley has moved into seventh place with 102 points, three shy of Gill's total.  Causley is also fourth with 44 career assists while Johnson ranks sixth with 81 all-time goals, one shy of Gill for fifth and three behind Campbell for fourth place all-time at Lourdes.

Solid in Goal: George Hoexum has had a strong rookie season in the cage.  His 124 saves this year are tied for third most in a single season ever at Lourdes.  He currently has a 10.95 goals against average and a .504 save percentage.
 
This and That: A total of 17 different Gray Wolves have scored this season and 21 players have registered at least one point ... Lourdes has won 59.1% of its faceoffs, led by Ezequel Ceant who is 133-of-225 (59.1%) ... Lourdes has outshot opponents 449-447 this year.
