Lourdes University Vice President of Athletics
Janet Eaton-Smith has announced that
Harrison Greer has been named the Gray Wolves' new esports coordinator.
Â
Greer had been the program's graduate assistant and also served as a student coach and player for the Gray Wolves during his undergraduate playing days.
Â
"It is an exciting time in athletics to name an alum,
Harrison Greer, as the next esports coordinator, Eaton-Smith stated.  "Not only does it help support the alumni relations, but it also brings a fresh prospective as well as respect for the university as a whole. It will help support the big picture in the athletics department. Our goal is to recruit, retain and graduate quality student-athletes as we continue to build upon the Gray Wolf traditions."
Â
Greer has competed in Overwatch, League of Legends, and Heroes of the Storm and was a member of the Gray Wolves' Great Lakes Esports Conference League of Legends championship team in the fall of 2020.
Â
He has also served as a head and positional coach for Catalyst Esports since 2020 and is also currently the program's social media manager.
Â
"When I was growing up, I never thought my passion for gaming and sports would get the chance to come together," Greer said.  "But now, five years after first coming to Lourdes University, I get the opportunity to combine the two aspects of my life as the esports coordinator.  I couldn't be more excited to continue in the esports world, and to do it at my alma mater makes it all the more special.  It has been a great experience and a privilege learning and working under Lemar Daniels, and I hope to continue his legacy of success here at Lourdes."
Â
A 2020 graduate of Lourdes with a bachelor's degree in history, Greer is currently pursuing his master's degree in business administration at the school.
