Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: Lourdes plays its final road games of the season midweek beginning on Tuesday at Siena Heights.  The Gray Wolves will make up a doubleheader at Aquinas on Wednesday before beginning its season-ending 10-game homestand with a four-game series against Cleary on Saturday and Sunday.

Head Coach Josh Bradford: In his fourth season in the Lourdes dugout, Josh Bradford has a 66-74 (.471) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Probable Starters: Caleb Loboschefski (RHP, 0-1, 20.77) is tentatively slated to start on Tuesday at Siena Heights.  On Wednesday, Anderson Strunk (LHP, 2-4, 9.13) will start one of the games of the doubleheader at Aquinas while the other game has yet to be determined.  Tentatively, Wyatt Smith (RHP, 4-1, 4.09) and Joey Oehlers (LHP, 4-3, 7.04) are slated to take the mound in Saturday's twinbill while Sunday's starters have yet to be announced.

Series Notes: Siena Heights leads the all-time series against Lourdes 18-16 dating back to April 5, 2012.  The Gray Wolves have won all three previous meetings this season against the Saints.  Lourdes was a 9-8 and 20-2 victor at Mercy Field while winning 13-10 in 10 innings this past Wednesday in Adrian, Mich.  The Gray Wolves are 8-7 all-time in Adrian.  Aquinas is 20-10 all-time against Lourdes in a series that began April 21, 2012.  The two sides split a four-game series last season at Aquinas.  The Saints are 12-3 against the Gray Wolves all-time on their home field.  Cleary holds a 10-8 series advantage against Lourdes dating back to March 14, 2015.  The two schools split a four-game set at Mercy Field in 2022 where the series is tied 6-6 all-time.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes dropped a non-conference doubleheader at Mount Vernon Nazarene 8-2 and 8-4 on Tuesday.  Nick DiGennero drove in three runs in the nightcap.  Ryan Jagodzinski hit a three-run home run in the top of the 10th on Wednesday in a 13-10 victory at Siena Heights.  Michael Strzelewicz hit a grand slam on Saturday in game one against Cornerstone as the Gray Wolves won the opener 12-1.  The Golden Eagles rallied late in game two for an 8-7 win despite three RBI by Strzelewicz.

Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints have dropped six straight games after dropping both ends of a doubleheader against Madonna on Sunday.  Cole VanWasshenova leads Siena Heights batting .345 on the season with 20 runs batted in.  The Saints are hitting .289 on the year while the pitching staff sports a 9.64 earned run average with opponents hitting .349 against them.

Scouting Aquinas: The Saints enter the week having split a doubleheader at Lawrence Tech on Saturday.  Aquinas travels to Cleary on Tuesday before hosting the Gray Wolves.  Chase Ingersoll is hitting a team-leading .444 for Aquinas while Grant Martin has hit eight home runs and has 41 runs batted in for an offense batting .294 on the season.  The Aquinas pitching staff carries a 6.53 ERA this season with the opposition batting .278 against them.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars begin the week on a five-game winning streak after sweeping Siena Heights on Saturday.  Cleary hosts Aquinas on Tuesday before facing Lourdes in the weekend series.  Ben Cerven is hitting .341 on the season with 36 runs batted in while Billy Flohr has hit six home runs on a team batting .273 overall.  The Cleary pitchers carry a 5.61 earned run average and opponents are hitting .305 against them.

In the Tournament Hunt: With two weeks remaining in the regular season, Lourdes is in the hunt for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.  The top six teams in the final standings qualify for the postseason event.  Lourdes enters the final week in a virtual tie with Lawrence Tech for the final spot but 11 league games still remain on he schedule.

Swinging a Hot Bat: Joel Suraganan has had a tremendous first season with the Gray Wolves in 2023.  The junior transfer is batting .415 (49-for-118) with 29 runs batted in.  He has stolen 11 bases, homered three times and sports a .482 on base percentage and a .585 slugging mark.  Suraganan has 14 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit contests, and eight multi-RBI games.

Leading the Pitching Staff: Wyatt Smith and Joey Oehlers each have a team-leading four victories on the mound this season for the Gray Wolves.  Smith is 4-1 with a 4.09 earned run average and has limited opponents to a .261 average.  Oehlers is 4-3 this season with a 7.04 ERA and has struck out 36 batters in 38.1 innings of work.

Pencil Him in the Lineup: Steve Haugh has started all 34 games for the Gray Wolves this season.  The senior is batting .330 with a team-leading four home runs and 32 runs batted in.  

This and That: Josh Hare has been walked a team-high 34 times this season and has a team-best .504 on base percentage ... Caleb Dugan enters the week with a nine-game hitting streak ... Dugan and Hare have both reached base safely in 11 straight contests entering this week's action ... Lourdes is 4-0 in extra inning games in 2023 and has won six straight extra inning affairs dating back to 2022.
