Upcoming in Gray Wolves Baseball: For just the second time in program history, Lourdes heads to the WHAC tournament this Wednesday through Friday.  The Gray Wolves will battle Northwestern Ohio in the first round of the double elimination event before facing either Lawrence Tech or Madonna in round two.

Head Coach Josh Bradford: In his fifth season in the Lourdes dugout, Josh Bradford has a 85-111 (.434) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves, as well as in his career as a collegiate head coach.  He is the third head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Probable Starters: Lourdes has not announced its starting rotation for the WHAC tournament at this time.

Series Notes: Northwestern Ohio holds a 33-2 all-time series advantage against Lourdes dating back to March 28, 2012.  The Racers have won 23 straight games against the Gray Wolves after sweeping the regular season series April 6-7 in Lima, Ohio.  Lawrence Tech is 11-7 against Lourdes in a series that began March 18, 2017.  The teams split a four-game series at Mercy Field April 20-21 with the Gray Wolves winning the doubleheader on day two.  Madonna holds a 35-2 all-time edge against Lourdes in a series that began March 31, 2012.  The Crusaders have won the last six meetings after sweeping a twinbill at Mercy Field earlier this season on April 29.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes swept a four-game series at Michigan-Dearborn last Saturday and Sunday.  The Gray Wolves were 13-10 and 16-5 victories on day one as Brendan Holland and Caleb Loboschefski picked up the victories on the hill.  Joel Suraganan went 5-for-5 with four RBI in game two.  On Sunday, Lourdes notched 9-1 and 15-5 triumphs as Wyatt Smith and Bryn Biemiller earned the wins on the mound.  A.J. Brinson had a four-hit game in the nightcap.

Scouting Northwestern Ohio: The Racers enter the tournament having won three straight games after taking the series against Cleary last weekend.  Darius Freeman leads Northwestern Ohio batting .404 with 37 runs batted in.  Drake Miller has a team-high six home runs while Tyler Grigalis has driven in 40 runs.  On the hill, Michael Joyce is 4-0 with a 2.05 earned run average and 65 strikeouts in 57 innings.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils enter the tournament following a doubleheader split with Siena Heights on Sunday.  Zach Meier leads the team batting .401 while Trent Reed is hitting .380 with a team-high 11 home runs.  Jacob Llaneza leads Lawrence Tech with 54 runs batted in.  On the mound, Ethan Hochendoner is 5-1 with a 3.40 earned run average.  He has 43 strikeouts in 39.2 innings of work.

Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders split a doubleheader on Sunday with Concordia (Mich.) to close out their regular season.  Nick Sandiha Jr. paces the Madonna offense batting .406 while Anthony Sharkas  has a team-high seven homers and 40 runs batted in.  Carson Collins is 4-3 with a 4.21 earned run average on the mound and has struck out 45 batters in 51.1 innings of work.

Lourdes in the WHAC Tournament: The Gray Wolves are making just their second appearance ever in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament and their first since 2018.  Lourdes went 0-2 in the event the first time, falling 12-1 to Madonna and 15-7 against Northwestern Ohio in games that were also played in Lima, Ohio.

DiGennaro Earns Multiple Accolades: Nick DiGennaro was named both the WHAC and the NAIA Player of the Week after batting .667 (8-for-12) last weekend.  All eight hits were for extra bases, including four home runs, while DiGennaro drove in 11 runs and scored eight times.  He also drew five walks to post a .778 on base percentage.

Streaking: Joel Suraganan enters the WHAC tournament on a 14-game hitting streak.  The senior shortstop has reached base safely in each of his last 20 games.  He now has 18 multi-hit games and 11 multi-RBI games this season and has raised his average up to team-leading .344 while driving in a team-high 34 runs.  Nick DiGennaro also sports an 11-game hitting streak entering postseason.

Getting on Base: Gray Harmer did not see his first action of the season until March 16, but now enters the week having reached base safely in his all 19 games in which he has appeared this season.  The freshman has posted a .446 on base percentage and is batting .327 while drawing 10 walks.

Leading the Pitching Staff: Caleb Loboschefski paced the pitching throughout the regular season.  He is 4-2 with a team-best 3.40 earned run average in 50.1 innings of work, making eight starts.  The redshirt-sophomore has tossed two complete games and opponents are batting just .244 against Loboschefski this season.

This and That: Only Alex Dupree and Joel Suraganan have started all 44 games for Lourdes this season ... A.J. Brinson is the only other Gray Wolf to appear in all 44 games ... Nick DiGennaro how leads the team with nine home runs this season ... Brinson is fielding .988 with just two errors in 173 chances at second base ... the second game of the tournament will be the Gray Wolves' first neutral site game of the season.
