JACKSON, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University men's and women's bowling teams headed back to the JAX 60 bowling lanes in Jackson, Mich., in time for the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference bowling tournament of the 2024-25 season.
The men placed 12th of 14 competing institutions with a total pin fall of 4,918 over three traditional games and four four-game baker sets. Lourdes finished one spot behind the University of Michigan-Dearborn, which finished the day with a total of 5,308 pins. Claiming the top spot was the host Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech University, who carded a 6,287 pin-fall score.
On the women's lanes, the Gray Wolves totaled 4,742 pins, for an 11th of 13 place finish, just one spot behind Siena Heights University, who collected a team total of 4,998. The Cardinals of Concordia University occupied the top spot, knocking down 5,932 total pins.
Individually, it was rookie
Reece Kramer leading the men's pack, once again. The freshman dropped 505 pins with a three-game series score sheet of 144, 172, and 189, good for 65th place and a game score improvement in each.
Graduate student
Dj Barton followed closely behind at 67th place with a 499 pin-fall score. His 193 in the third game marked the highest score among the Gray Wolves.
On the women's side, sophomore
Dezaray Mcle led the women's team, placing 20th with a total individual score of 538. The Ohio native bowled a 162 in game one, an impressive team-best 205 in game two, and a 171 in game three.
In baker action, the first set saw the men score a series of 151,161,143, and 142, four-game scores, while the second set read 181,161,185, and 135 scores. The third saw the men earn 136, 173, 155, and a team-best 211, while finishing 156, 200, 143, and 175 in the final set. The 211 team baker-set score mark's as the team's season high, topping the 202 in the Dirty Bird Classic.
The women also participated in the same kind of baker-play, scoring 151, 157, 170, and 111 in the first, 149, 187, 143, and a 162 in the second, and a 142, 183, 142, and 203 in the third. The Gray Wolves finished the tournament with 170, 135, 161, and 129 scores in the fourth baker set game. The 203 in the in the third set marked the highest for the Gray wolves in baker play, topping the team's previous high of 167 at the Dirty Bird Classic.
