JACKSON, Mich. – The Gray Wolves bowling teams each had impressive Saturday afternoons at The Scotty Classic Tournament hosted by Alma College. The men's varsity team finished in 6
th out of 20 teams, while the women placed 7
thout of 14.
The men's team beat out five division 1 opponents in their 6
th-place finish: Purdue, Michigan State, Bowling Green, Wright State and Michigan. Meanwhile, the women's team also beat out Michigan State and Bowling Green en route to their 7
th-spot placement.
Individually, sophomore men's bowler
Reece Kramer finished 2
nd in the tournament with a 698 three-game series. Kramer made the men's varsity all-tournament team.
Junior men's bowler
Gbolahon Olatoye placed 3
rd for the men's JV side and also made the all-tournament team with a 638 three-game series.
Freshman
Veronica Flanagan once again led the way for the Gray Wolves women's team with a 5
th-place individual finish and an all-tournament team selection. Flanagan impressed with a 576 three-game set.
Coach Nusbaum's Post-Tournament Comments
"It was another good day on the lanes today," Coach Nusbaum said. "Things are starting to click at the right times."
Next Tournament
The Lourdes bowling teams will play next Saturday, Feb. 7 at the AHBA Roseland Lanes Collegiate Open in Oakwood Villiage, Ohio, about 140 miles east of Lourdes.
