SYLVANIA, Ohio – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has selected Lourdes' freshman bowler
Veronica Flanagan to the All-American team.
Flanagan, a native of Vandergrift, Pa., has enjoyed one of the best individual seasons ever by a Gray Wolves bowler. She won the WHAC Bowler of the Year award, the WHAC Newcomer of the Year award, and can now put All-American next to her long list of accolades in her lone season at Lourdes.
Flanagan is one of only a handful of underclassmen to make the All-American teams. In total, just 15 women's bowlers in the nation made the All-American list, with five bowlers per tiered team. Flanagan was chosen as part of the third team, along with fellow WHAC competitor, Aquinas' Tayler Mohney.
Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Pikeville, and Mount Mercy each had two selections to the All-American squads. Elizabeth Weeks from SCAD won the NAIA women's bowler of the year award, Bricey Caudill from Tennessee Wesleyan won the NAIA women's bowling Rookie of the Year award, and Andy Diercks won the NAIA women's bowling Coach of the Year award for his success at Mount Mercy.
Flanagan's success helped lead the Lourdes women to a NAIA Sectionals berth and a 43
rd overall team finish in the country.
