Derek Fairley (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran West) has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Fairley was dominant in the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season, averaging 28.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 64% from the floor and 54% from beyond the arc to lead the Gray Wolves to a pair of victories at the Grand Rapids Classic.
In Friday's season opener, Fairley exploded for 34 points, connecting on four three-pointers and adding eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals in an 85-80 win over Saint Xavier (Ill.). He followed that performance with 23 points, six assists, and four rebounds the next day as Lourdes rolled past Wright State–Lake Campus 99-78.
Fairley and the Gray Wolves (2-0) will return to action Wednesday evening when they travel to Wilberforce University for their first road contest of the season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside Gaston Lewis Gymnasium.
