KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Lourdesathletics.com) – Lourdes University's men's basketball senior Shaunn Monroe has been named a 2024-25 NAIA Men's Basketball Second-Team All-American, as announced by the NAIA national office on Monday.
Monroe, a senior guard from Charleston, W.Va., capped off an outstanding season for the Gray Wolves, earning recognition among the nation's top collegiate athletes. The WHAC Player of the Year, Monroe averaged 21.1 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and an impressive 40% from three-point range in conference play. He also contributed across multiple statistical categories, totaling 40 steals, 77 assists, and 91 rebounds during the 20-game WHAC schedule.
His efforts helped lead Lourdes to a 21-9 overall record and a 15-5 mark in WHAC play, securing a berth in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. Monroe's consistent performance throughout the season solidified his place among the top players in the country, marking a significant achievement for both himself and the Lourdes basketball program.
Monroe becomes the latest Lourdes standout to earn national recognition, further elevating the program's presence on the national stage.
