Lourdes earns 11 total post-season honors.

LIVONIA, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) – Lourdes University's Will Speight has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Wrestler of the Year following an outstanding season on the mat. Speight, along with teammate Carter Kroll, earned First Team All-Conference honors, highlighting the Gray Wolves' strong presence in the conference's postseason awards.

Speight (184 lbs.) dominated his weight class throughout the season and capped off his performance with a WHAC Championship title, securing the Wrestler of the Year accolade. Kroll (197 lbs.) joined Speight on the First Team after claiming his own WHAC title with two falls in the championship tournament.

Lourdes' Cole McKinley (141 lbs.) was recognized as a Second Team All-Conference selection following a strong showing throughout the season, including a runner-up finish at the conference tournament.

In addition to competitive honors, Lourdes had five student-athletes named to the WHAC All-Academic Team: Derick Coleman, Carter Kroll, Nicholas Rodriguez, William Speight, and Ayden Wilson. These student-athletes were recognized for their excellence both on the mat and in the classroom.

Ty Cobb was selected as Lourdes' representative on the WHAC Champion of Character Team, an honor recognizing athletes who exemplify sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership within their programs.

The WHAC also honored standout individuals from across the conference. Indiana Tech's Luke Rioux was named Newcomer of the Year, while Cornerstone's Trevor Marsman earned Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament. The Coach of the Year award was shared by Chris Williamson (Cornerstone) and Thomas Pompei (Indiana Tech), while Cleary's Matt Santos was named the Champion of Character Coach.

Throughout the season, Lourdes' Ty Cobb was recognized as the WHAC Wrestler of the Week (Nov. 25), marking another key highlight for the Gray Wolves.

Lourdes University now looks ahead to the upcoming NAIA National Championships, where individual qualifiers will aim to continue their success on the national stage.
