LIVONIA, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) – Four Lourdes University men's basketball players received postseason honors as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its annual postseason awards on Friday, Feb. 28. Highlighting the accolades, Shaunn Monroe was named the WHAC Player of the Year and earned a spot on the First Team All-WHAC and All-Defensive Team.
Monroe, a senior guard, has had a dominant season for the Gray Wolves, ranking third in the NAIA in scoring with 23.4 points per game while also contributing 4.2 rebounds and 111 assists on the year. He has been a consistent force offensively, earning WHAC Offensive Player of the Week honors seven times throughout the season. Additionally, Monroe surpassed the 1,000-career-point milestone earlier this year, solidifying his place in Lourdes history.
Freshman guard Derek Fairley was named to the WHAC All-Freshman Team, recognizing his impact in his first collegiate season. Fairley provided valuable minutes for the Gray Wolves, contributing on both ends of the floor.
Senior Quentin Jones was selected to the WHAC Champions of Character Team, representing Lourdes with leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
Lourdes also had two players named to the WHAC All-Academic Team, as Quentin Jones and Kendall Perkins earned recognition for their success in the classroom.
