BRADENTON, Fla. (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University's women's golf team secured a second-place finish at the Shenandoah Spring Fling, held Monday and Tuesday at Heritage Harbour Golf Course. The Gray Wolves posted a two-round total of 741, edging out New College of Florida by a single stroke in the five-team event.
Marymount (Va.) claimed the team title with a score of 668, finishing 73 strokes ahead of Lourdes. Shenandoah and Gordon rounded out the field in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Individually, Claire Recker led the way for Lourdes, finishing in sixth place overall with a 36-hole total of 173 (87-86). Emma Mulder followed closely behind in seventh place, improving by five strokes in her second round to finish at 175 (90-85).
Sydney Shank and Elyse Czarnik rounded out the scoring for the Gray Wolves. Shank carded rounds of 95 and 100 to finish at 195, while Czarnik posted a 198 (100-98).
