Women’s Basketball Earns No. 16 Seed, to Face No. 1 Campbellsville in NAIA Tournament First Round

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (LourdesAthletics.com) – The Lourdes University women's basketball team secured the No. 16 seed in the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship and will travel to Campbellsville, Ky., to take on No. 1 overall seed Campbellsville University in the opening round of the tournament.

The Gray Wolves gathered on Thursday afternoon for the NAIA Selection Show Watch Party, celebrating their historic first-ever national tournament berth. As the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament champions, Lourdes earned an automatic bid into the 64-team field, joining 35 automatic qualifiers and 29 at-large selections from across the country. The first and second rounds will take place at host sites nationwide on March 15-16, with Lourdes competing at Campbellsville University.

Lourdes (22-10) enters the tournament following a strong run through the WHAC Tournament, earning the program's first conference title.

The winner of the Lourdes-Campbellsville matchup will advance to the second round on March 16, with a trip to the NAIA National Championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa, on the line. The championship rounds will take place at the Tyson Events Center from March 21-26.

Fans unable to travel to Campbellsville can watch the first and second rounds via livestream, with details to be provided by the host institution. The NAIA Championship final site games will be broadcast for free on the NAIA Channel of the Urban Edge Network and the NAIA Network.
