OTTAWA HILLS, Mich. (LourdesAthletics.com) -- The Lourdes University women's golf team took first place in the Lourdes Spring Invitational at The Legacy Golf Course in Ottawa Hills, Mich., with a team score of 350. The event, which was held under unusual circumstances due to the cancellation of the final regular-season home tournament because of weather, was made even more special as it marked the seniors' last time playing on their home course.
Lourdes was led by Claire Recker, who carded an 85 to secure first place in the individual standings. Emma Mulder and Shauna White finished tied for second, both posting scores of 88. Sydney Shank followed closely with a 89, rounding out the top four Lourdes players.
This tournament also served as a farewell to the senior class, which has contributed greatly to the program's success. It was an emotional moment for the Gray Wolves' upperclassmen as they played their final round at The Legacy Golf Course, their home course for the past several seasons.
In addition to the Lourdes competitors, individual players from other teams participated in the tournament. Kyleigh Ramos of Siena Heights finished fifth with a 95, while Lourdes' Kenzie Richardson placed sixth with a 98. Allison Knicely finished seventh with a 102, followed by Rylee Dunn with a 103.
