Lourdes Bowling Breaks More School Records at AHBA Roseland Open

Both teams finish runner-up in the event

OAKWOOD VILLAGE, Ohio – The Lourdes men's and women's varsity bowling teams each finished as runner-ups in the AHBA Roseland Lanes Collegiate Open in Oakwood Village, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

The men's team placed 2nd out of nine teams with a total score of 6,166. They finished higher than multiple NCAA division 2 and 3 teams as well as Bowling Green and Dayton.

The women's team placed 2nd out of six teams with a total score of 5,483. They placed above Bowling Green, Walsh, Kent State Tuscarawas and Erie Community College.

Once again, records were broken between the two Gray Wolves squads. On the men's side, their game four score of a 1,143 is a new Lourdes program record, shattering the old record by 11 pins.

On the women's side, freshman Veronica Flanagan continued her WHAC Bowler of the Year campaign with a new program record 289 game. The game breaks Cassi Kieper's previous record that she just set last week. Flanagan finished second overall in the varsity women's division. The varsity women also broke their single season game record with a 1,061 game during the afternoon.

Other impressive individual performances include sophomore Reece Kramer, who won the varsity men's division with a 1,014 four game series. Brenden Staton came in third place on the men's side. Haley Lewis, Sadie Rose and Kaitlyn Comar all made the all-tournament team on the JV women's tournament.

Coach Nusbaum and Coach Allen's Postgame Comments
"You can really see the payoff from all the hard work and extra practice the athletes have been putting in," Coach Nusbaum said. "The teams are clicking on all cylinders as we race to the finish."

"These kids are working so hard, it's awesome to watch," Coach Allen said.
