Box Score The Lourdes University Gray Wolves were defeated by the Cornerstone Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon in three sets. Despite the straight set loss the Gray Wolves were in every set as they competed tough following the five set loss the night before to Aquinas College.

Set one was a battle most of the way as each team exchanged point after point all the way to 17 all tie. Cornerstone would start to find their rhythm a little bit though as they would take a 23 to 17 advantage before Lourdes would fight back to a 24-21 deficit.  The set would eventually go the way of Cornerstone though at 25-23. The Golden Eagles led in the kill's category with 16 to Lourdes 14. Each team committed four errors while Lourdes edged out Cornerstone 46 to 42 in total attempts.

The second set of the match looked nearly identical as the first set with both teams exchanging points to a 19 all tie before the Golden Eagles would finally pull away with a lead that would eventually give them the set with a 25-22 victory. The Golden Eagles would finish one kill more than the Gray Wolves for the set with a 14-13 advantage. Each team would commit five errors in the set.

The third and final set went the way of the Golden Eagles as each team would play close all the way to a 24-24 tie before the Golden Eagles would pull away with the set victory at 26-24.

The next matchup for the Gray Wolves will be on the road as they head to Sienna Heights on Wednesday October 12^th at 7pm. The Gray Wolves will still be searching for the first WHAC conference win as they sit currently 0-4 and 7-15 overall.
