The Lourdes University women's volleyball team dominated in their second home match of the season in defeating Marygrove College at the TAM-O-SHANTER on Wednesday night 3-1.

The first set was a seesaw battle as the two teams hung with each other point for point early on but then it was all Gray Wolves as the Wolves would dominate the service line with four aces being spread among four different servers. Eleven kills were tallied for Lourdes compared to just five for the Mustangs. The biggest standout stat of the first set was errors as the Gray Wolves tallied five early on but settled down compared to ten for the Mustangs. Set one score would be 25-14.

Set two looked a lot like set one for both squads as they would hang with each other point for point early on but midway through the Gray Wolves would take over once again with solid defense and taking advantage of opportunities. The Gray Wolves held would hold the Mustangs scoreless for awhile amassing a 19-11 lead before finally winning the set 25-19 to take two sets to none lead.

The third set would be a battle all the way to the very end as Marygrove College would give the Gray Wolves all they wanted and more. The Mustangs would hold a lead of 19-16 before Lourdes would battle back but only to fall 25-22 leaving it two sets to one advantage.

The fourth set of the match was one that showed the true character of never quitting from the Lourdes Gray Wolves as most of the set was dominated by the Mustangs before a late rally would propel the Gray Wolves to their second home victory of the season winning 25-22. Lourdes would overcome a five point deficit to win the match three sets to one.
