Day two of the Gray Wolf Invite started out solid for the Lourdes University Gray Wolves as they defeated the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech in three sets.

Set one was an early battle between the two squads as the Gray Wolves were searching early on to find a rhythm. They eventually would in the set but not before the Blue Devils would make a run of their own to draw the set within two points at 19-17. The Lourdes Gray Wolves though would kick it in gear to win the set 25-18. Lourdes and Lawrence Tech would each finish with 10 kills. Lourdes would commit six errors to the Gray Wolves seven. Lourdes would win the serving battle with three aces to none for the Blue Devils.

In the second set the Gray Wolves would be challenged as the Blue Devils would keep it close with consistent rallies and unforced errors by the Gray Wolves. Lourdes would win the set 25-20. Once again in the stat category it was pretty even. Lourdes edged out the Blue Devils in kills by an 11-10 score. Lourdes would finish with 29 total attempts compared to just 24 for the Blue Devils.

Lourdes would take set three in a thriller as they would win with a 25-23 final. Both teams would battle with relentless rallies that would eventually go the Gray Wolves way. Both teams would finish with 11 kills in the set and each also had nine errors.

With the victory the Lourdes Gray Wolves advance to the championship game of the tournament to be played at approximately 4pm.

Lourdes improved their overall record to 6-9.
