Set one was all Saints as the Lourdes Gray Wolves looked lost at times on the court with miscommunication and the inability to finish off kill opportunities. Freshman outside hitter Lindsey Adams was on fire in the first set finishing an attacking .700%. Siena Heights finished the set with 14 kills to Lourdes five. Errors were also a big part of the set as Lourdes committed nine to the Saints three.
Set two was one of the best sets that Lourdes University has played all year. Midway through the set it looked like it would be a repeat of the first set until the wheels started to come off for the Saints as Lourdes would close the gap at one point to just a six point lead. That's when things started to get interesting as both teams would battle toward the number 25. It would look like doom for the Gray Wolves as they would trail 19-24 with the Saints serving for the set when out of nowhere the Gray Wolves found a rhythm and an answer to the power hitting Lindsey Adams. The Gray Wolves reeled off six consecutive points and would eventually tie things up at 25-25. It would only take two more points for the Gray Wolves to win the set 27-25 and tie up each team with a set apiece.
Set three was all Saints as they jumped out to an early lead of 8-3 and never was really contested as the Gray Wolves resorted back to their set one ways in not communicating on the court or being able to finish at the net. The Gray Wolves finished with an 11 to 10 kill advantage overall but just made too many mistakes with five errors that proved costly.
The fourth set went the Gray Wolves way as they dug down deep and won the set 25-23. It looked like it would be an easy set win until the Saints fought back hard trailing 24-18 before Saints Freshman Halie Baker served the Saints back to a 24-23 deficit. The Gray Wolves were out killed 14-12 but only committed five harmless errors to the Saints nine.
The fifth and decisive set would go the way of the Saints as they would win 15-8 to defeat the Gray Wolves three sets to two. The Saints jumped out early and led at the changeover 8-4 before handing the Gray Wolves their 12
th loss of the season. The Saints would combine for 10 kills to Lourdes two.
