It was a tough trip to the Windy City for the Lourdes University women's volleyball team on Friday and Saturday as they took part in the St. Xavier Tournament. Lourdes would have a solid victory to start out the tournament taking on Roosevelt University and winning in three straight sets. But it would not remain the Lourdes way after that as they would drop three straight matches to Davenport University in four sets and then back to back blanking's at the hands of Mt. Mercy University and Trinity Christian College on Saturday.

 

It was not all bad news for the Gray Wolves though as they received great serving from Defensive Specialist Amanda Drew and Hannah Thompson played excellent defensive throughout the entire tournament.

 

Coach Greg Reitz said after the tournament “The women played tough, they competed in each set but were just unable to get into rhythm after that first match on Friday”.

 

After the loss to Trinity Christian College the Lourdes volleyball team drops their record to 3-7 overall on the young season.

 

Lourdes University will return to action on the road in Fort Wayne, IN. on Wednesday September 7^th for a match-up against Indiana Tech starting at 7pm.
