Lourdes University returned to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Friday evening, dropping a 25-18, 25-18, 25-11 road match to the University of Northwestern Ohio at Racer Gymnasium in Lima, Ohio.

The Racers held Lourdes to .149 hitting on the evening while posting a .409 hitting percentage themselves, committing just eight attack errors throughout the course of the evening.

Lourdes kept the opening set close most of the way, trailing just 17-16 before UNOH went on an 8-2 run to close out the set. An 11-5 Northwestern Ohio run in the second set broke it open, giving the Racers a 16-9 advantage, one they would not relinquish. In the final set, UNOH scored 14 of the final 18 points to close out the match

Stephanie Richards (Toledo, Ohio/Perrysburg H.S.) led the way for Lourdes with eight kills while
Stef Comte (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame added seven kills while hitting .500 for the match.Â
Lexi Curtis (Toledo, Ohio/Bedford H.S.) handed out 26 assists while
Michi Jimenez (Vega Baja, P.R./Juan Quirindongo Morrell H.S.) led all players with nine digs.

Lourdes (9-7, 1-3) will return home to Tam-o-Shanter on Wednesday evening while stepping out of WHAC play to host Spring Arbor. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
