Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Having won two straight matches, Lourdes begins a busy week of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Wednesday at Lawrence Tech. The Gray Wolves then travel to Siena Heights on Saturday to face both Madonna and the host Saints in a conference crossover.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his fifth season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 79-79 (.500) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In his sixth season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has an 99-114 (.465) career mark. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes is 9-0 all-time against Lawrence Tech after posting a straight sets victory over the Blue Devils back on Sept. 10 at Tam-o-Shanter. The Gray Wolves are 3-0 against Lawrence Tech all-time in Southfield, Mich.  Lourdes is 6-5 all-time against Siena Heights after a 3-0 sweep of the Saints back on Sept. 12 in Adrian, Mich. The Gray Wolves are 2-3 all-time against Siena Heights in Adrian. Lourdes is 1-5 all-time against Madonna after a five-set victory over the Crusaders on Oct. 4 in Livonia, Mich. This will be the first meeting for the two schools on a neutral floor.
Earlier This Season: Lourdes notched a 25-13, 27-25, 25-22 victory over Lawrence Tech on Sept. 10 at Tam-o-Shanter.Â
Carolyn Manley had eight kills and hit .438 to lead the Gray Wolves while Kasey Clark had 11 kills for the Blue Devils. The Gray Wolves posted a 25-10, 25-21, 25-17 win at Siena Heights on Sept. 12 behind 11 kills and .450 hitting from
Stephanie Richards. Leze Vukaj had a team-high five kills for the Saints. On Oct. 4, Lourdes defeated then ninth-ranked Madonna 25-23, 20-25, 19-25, 25-12, 15-9 on the road behind 16 kills and 20 digs from Richards. Casey Gates had 17 kills and 18 digs for the Crusaders.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes earned a 25-20, 25-13, 25-23 road victory over Marygrove last Wednesday evening.Â
Stef Comte hit .565 with 13 kills while
Angie Pagan-Perez added 11 kills.Â

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have won three of their last five matches after downing Bellevue (Neb.) and falling to #22 Grand View last Saturday. Kasey Clark leads the team with 358 kills and 189 digs while Josie Queary has handed out 660 assists. Mary Armstrong has a team-high 54 blocks.
Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders enter the week having won four of their last five matches following wins over #22 Grand View and Bellevue (Neb.) on Saturday. Casey Gates leads the squad with 391 kills while Spencer Stokes has handed out 1,211 assists. Amanda Obrycki has tallied 434 digs and Emily Johnson leads the way with 105 blocks. Madonna plays at Cornerstone Wednesday before facing Lourdes on Saturday.
Scouting Siena Heights: The Saints enter the week having dropped two straight matches following a four-set loss to Davenport last Wednesday. Siena Heights hosts Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday and faces Michigan-Dearborn earlier in the day on Saturday before battling Lourdes. Halie Baker leads the way with 172 kills while Carly Tillotson has handed out 560 assists. Nicole Morgan has a team-high 240 digs while Leze Vukaj tops the roster with 70 blocks.
Looking for #100: Head coach
Greg Reitz's next victory will be his 100th as a collegiate women's head coach. He enters play 99-114 overall, with 79 of the 99 triumphs coming at Lourdes. Reitz previously coached at Saint Joseph's (Ind.) for two seasons.
Comte Has Career Night: Stef Comte had the third best hitting night (minimum 20 attempts) in school history last Wednesday. The sophomore hit .565 with 13 kills on 23 swings. She did not commit an error the entire match and is now hitting .253 on the season.
Telling Stats: Offense is important and Lourdes record reflects that. The Gray Wolves are 11-0 this season when hitting a better percentage than their opponents, but are 0-8 on the year when posting worse numbers. Lourdes is also 5-0 when outblocking its opponents and 9-2 when winning the opening set.
Climbing the Blocking Charts: Stef Comte has already been involved in 53 blocks on the season, the fifth most in a single season in program history. Comte also ranks second all-time at Lourdes with 128 for her career. She is just 10 rejections shy of the school mark of 138 set by
Andrea Brown (2012-2013).
Acing the Competition: Lexie Curtis has now tallied 37 service aces this season, moving into third on the Gray Wolves' single season chart. She is three aces shy of Hannah Thompson's 2011 mark for second place and four aces behind Thompson's 2010 school record of 41.
Captains Named: Michi Jimenez,
Mallory Lenhart, and
Carolyn Manley have been named Gray Wolf tri-captains for this season. Jimenez is a junior libero who is a two-time Honorable Mention All-WHAC pick. Lenhart and Manley are both in their first seasons at Lourdes, having transferred to the school in the offseason.
