Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes University travels to the Windy City this weekend to participate in the Saint Xavier/Trinity Christian Crossover. The Gray Wolves will face Spring Arbor and Saint Xavier at Saint Xavier on Friday before battling Saint Francis (Ill.) and Mount Mercy at Trinity Christian on Saturday.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his fifth season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 68-73 (.482) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In his sixth season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has an 88-108 (.449) career mark. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Lourdes is 2-0 all-time against Spring Arbor having swept the Cougars at home last season after winning in four sets in 2012. Saint Xavier won the only previous meeting between the two schools last season, a 3-0 sweep at Tam-o-Shanter. Saint Francis (Ill.) has swept all three previous meetings against Lourdes, with the last meeting coming on Aug. 24, 2012 in Dearborn, Mich. Mount Mercy won the only previous meeting against the Gray Wolves 3-0 on Sept. 3, 2011 in Palos Heights, Ill.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the 2014 season last weekend at the Aces in August Classic hosted by Rio Grande. The Gray Wolves fell in five sets to Union (Ky.) to begin play on Friday before dropping a four-set match to Taylor later that evening. Lourdes withdrew on Saturday due to safety concerns with moisture on the court, and suffered forfeit defeats to Rio Grande and Cumberlands (Ky.).
Scouting Spring Arbor: The Cougars defeated Michigan-Dearborn last Saturday to snap a three-match season-opening losing streak. Rebekah Kujat has 47 kills and is hitting .302 already this year while Lyndsay Murray has tallied 59 digs. Courtney Kyser leads Spring Arbor with 13 blocks.
Scouting Saint Xavier: The Cougars have dropped two straight matches following a five-set loss at Clarke on Wednesday night. Marie Hackert has a team-leading 32 kills while Dominique Aramburu has recorded a team-high 46 digs. Kelli Shaffer is one assist shy of 100 on the year through three matches. Â
Scouting Saint Francis (Ill.): The Fighting Saints are still looking for their first win of the season after falling in all four matches last weekend at the Grand View Tournament, including three setbacks to top-20 programs. Shelby Kupferschmid has tallied a team-high 44 kills while Brooke Hartnell has a team-best 80 digs.
Scouting Mount Mercy: The Mustangs opened the season with wins over Robert Morris (Ill.) and Benedictine before falling to Dakota State in four sets at their own Mustang Invitational. Leslie Hoffmann hit .406 with a team-high 37 kills while Samantha Meyer has recorded a team-best 37 digs.

Andrea Brown (2012-2013) for the top spot on the charts.
Nearing 1,000 Digs: Michi Jimenez, the school's all-time dig leader, recorded 33 digs in the two contests last weekend and is now just four digs shy of 1,000 for her career. Her 996 career digs are 273 more than any other Gray Wolf in history.
More Neutral Sites: Lourdes has played 50 of its 139 all-time matches at neutral sites, sporting a 21-29 record all-time in such matches. After three more this weekend, the Gray Wolves still have a pair of neutral site contests remaining during Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play.
Lots of Appearances: Michi Jimenez has moved into sole possession of second place on the Gray Wolves' career sets played chart. She has played in 244 career sets, trailing just
Ali Mass (2010-2013) who appeared in 313 sets. Jimenez also is tied for third all-time on the matches played list with Samantha Stainbrook (2010-2011), with each having played in 68 contests. Jiminez is just two matches shy of tying Hannah Thompson (2010-2011) for second place.
