The Gray Wolves are now 74-74 all-time in their fifth season of intercollegiate volleyball. Lourdes has won four consecutive matches and the last 12 sets in which they have competed.

"We'll take a 3-0 conference win any time," head coach
Greg Reitz stated. "We had to battle tonight which we did and the big thing was we didn't give up any sets."

Lourdes appeared to be in control of the match in the opening set, committing just one attack error while hitting .375. Leading 13-10, the Gray Wolves closed the stanza with a 12-3 run, playing outstanding defense while recording 21 digs.

Set two was a different story as there were seven lead changes and 18 ties throughout. Lourdes went on a mini run midway through, scoring four straight points to take a 17-13 lead only to see the Blue Devils answer with four straight points of their own to tie the contest up at 18. The Gray Wolves again built a lead, 23-20, before three straight Lawrence Tech points tied the set yet again. Lourdes had four set points before a
Carolyn Manley (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) kill finally gave the hosts the 2-0 advantage in the match.

The final set was also close most of the way, with 11 ties and six lead changes. Lawrence Tech held a 20-19 lead before two kills from manly and a service ace from
Michi Jimenez (Vega Baja, P.R./Juan Quirindongo Morell H.S.) put the Gray Wolves in front 23-20. The Blue Devils committed a pair of service errors for the final points of the match.

Manley hit .438 with eight kills while
Katie McKenty (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame H.S.) added eight more kills while hitting .368 to pace Lourdes.Â
Angie Pagan-Perez (Toa Baja, P.R./Bayamon Military Academy) posted a team-high nine kills while
Lexie Curtis (Toledo, Ohio/Bedford H.S.) handed out 19 assists. Jimenez led the defense with 15 digs while
Gabby Teifke (Holland, Ohio/Springfield H.S.) and McKenty each were involved in four blocks.

"Michi made some outstanding digs for us tonight," Reitz added.

Kasey Clark led Lawrence Tech (5-5, 1-1 WHAC) with 11 kills while Kelsey Haener added 10 kills. Josie Queary handed out 32 assists while tallying a team-high eight digs.

Lourdes (6-5, 2-0) will take to the road on Friday evening, traveling to Adrian, Mich. to face Siena Heights. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.
