Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes will host Cleary on Wednesday afternoon in the team's final tune up prior to conference play beginning.  The Gray Wolves will travel to Davenport on Saturday afternoon in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener.

Head Coach Jackie Donovan: In her first season on the Lourdes bench, Jackie Donovan has a 2-2-1 (.500) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: As will be a common theme for the Gray Wolves this season, Lourdes has never faced Cleary or Cornerstone in women's soccer.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes scored its first road triumph in program history last Tuesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves defeated Purdue Calumet 3-1.  Jada Foster scored twice while Kendyl Christian added her first goal for the Gray Wolves while Erika Brinkman made nine saves in goal.  On Saturday night, Lourdes battled Taylor to a scoreless tie through regulation, but the Trojans found the back of the net 5:20 into overtime to earn a 1-0 victory over the Gray Wolves.  Brinkman made six stops in goal in the setback.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars enter Wednesday's match having won two of their last three contests following a 2-0 victory at Bluffton on Saturday.  Shelby Marsh leads Cleary in scoring with four goals and eight points while Alexis Whatcott has added two goals and an assist for five points.  In goal, Kathrynna Roberts has played all but one match, sporting a 3.17 goals against average and a .678 save percentage.  The Cougars are closing out a four-match road trip at Lourdes.

Scouting Taylor: The Panthers have won three of their last four matches following a 2-0 victory at home against Indiana Wesleyan last Saturday evening.  Nea-Stina Liljedahl leads Davenport in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 total points.  Alayna Hilgendorf has added three goals for six points.  Tara Gessler has played all but 46 minutes between the posts for the Panthers, sporting a 1.19 goals against average and an .843 save percentage.

Conference Opener Ahead: Lourdes will play its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match in program history on Saturday at Davenport.  The WHAC has had a team advance to the NAIA national quarterfinals each of the past two seasons, with Northwestern Ohio finishing national runner-up in 2014.

Lots of Bonus Soccer: Lourdes has taken three of its first five matches in program history to overtime, but have yet to score a golden goal.  The Gray Wolves battled Rochester (Mich.) to a scoreless draw in the season opener before falling 2-1 at Saint Francis (Ind.) and 1-0 to Taylor in extra time.  Lourdes has yet to lose a match that has finished in regulation.

A Multi-Goal Scorer: Jada Foster became the first multi-goal scorer in program history with her two goals at Purdue Calumet last Tuesday.  The freshman tied the match in the 13th minute before providing the match-winner in the 44th minute.  Foster scored the first four goals in program history.

Christian Finds the Back of the Net: Kendyl Christian stopped Jada Foster's string of goals for Lourdes, scoring her first goal as a Gray Wolf at Purdue Calumet.  Christian scored 18 goals in two seasons at Owens CC prior to transferring to Lourdes.

Solid Defensively in Regulation: Lourdes has allowed just two goals during the 90 minutes of regulation time this season, and has yet to surrender a goal in the second half.  Unfortunately for the Gray Wolves, the opposition has tallied a pair of overtime winners.

Helping Hands: Remy Houttekier and Nichole Miller have accounted for all four assists for the Gray Wolves this season.  Miller tallied her first two helpers of her collegiate career in the victory at Purdue Calumet last Tuesday.

Brinkman Posts Strong Numbers: Erika Brinkman ranks 25th in NAIA posting a 0.73 goals against average between the posts for Lourdes.  The senior netminder has registered an .875 save percentage and has a pair of shutouts already this year.

Captains Named: Senior Erika Brinkman and junior Remy Houttekier will serve as the team's inaugural captains during the 2015 season.

This and That: Jada Foster has tallied both of Lourdes match-winning goals this year ... Foster ranks 25th in NAIA in match-winners ... 10 of Lourdes 11 starters have been the same for all five matches ... the Gray Wolves begin a stretch this week where they will play three straight schools from the state of Michigan.
