Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A historic season for the Lourdes University women's soccer team came to a close Saturday afternoon, as the second-seeded Gray Wolves dropped a 1-0 decision to third-seeded Aquinas in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament semifinals at Wildcat Stadium.
Aquinas (10-5-1) netted the lone goal of the match in the 14th minute, when Kiersen Korienek found the back of the net off assists from Maeve Comfort and a team touch. The Saints outshot Lourdes 19-9 in the match and held a 13-6 edge in shots on goal.

Samarah Arendsen turned in a standout performance, making 10 saves—including six in the first half—to keep the Gray Wolves within striking distance. Defenders
Cecily Hughes and
Molly Anderson each notched a key defensive save to help keep Lourdes in contention.
The Gray Wolves (12-3-1) mounted multiple attacks in the second half, outshooting Aquinas 8-10 over the final 45 minutes. Senior
Rachel Nelson led Lourdes with two shots and one on frame, while six different Gray Wolves recorded a shot on goal.
With the loss, Lourdes concludes one of its best season in program history, finishing with a 12-3-1 overall record and a 9-1-1 WHAC mark. The Gray Wolves cracked the record books in a number of categories, tied for 2nd all-time in wins, 1st all-time in goals (38), assists (27), shots (310), points (103) and goals allowed (12). They rank 2nd all-time in shutouts (9).
