Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes begins defense of its Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament title on Friday evening as the top-seeded Gray Wolves host fifth-seeded Davenport in the semifinals. A Gray Wolf victory would advance Lourdes to Saturday's championship against the winner of second-seeded Madonna and third-seeded Cornerstone.
On the Air: Friday's match against Davenport will be broadcast tape-delayed on BCSN on Buckeye Cablesystem. The game will air on BCSN at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. In addition, BCSN2 will show the match on Saturday at 2 a.m. The match will also re-air later in the week.
Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his seventh season on the Lourdes bench,
Greg Reitz has a 142-92 (.607) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves. In his eighth season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 161-127 (.559) career mark. He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.
Series Notes: Davenport holds an 8-5 all-time advantage over Lourdes since Sept. 2, 2011. The Gray Wolves have won four straight matches against the Panthers, though, including a 3-0 sweeps earlier this season on Oct. 5 at the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center and last Wednesday (Nov. 2) in Grand Rapids, Mich. Lourdes and Cornerstone have split their 10 previous meetings 5-5 dating back to Oct. 8, 2011. The Gray Wolves won the first meeting this season at home on Sept. 21 in straight sets while the Golden Eagles posted a four-set win in Grand Rapids on Oct. 26. Madonna holds a 6-5 all-time advantage against Lourdes dating back to Oct. 8, 2010, but the Gray Wolves have won four straight in the series. Lourdes won the only meeting this season in four sets on Oct. 22 at the Ebeid Rec Center.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes wrapped up a share of the WHAC regular season title on Wednesday evening with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-20 victory over Davenport on the road.Â
Molly Shonk and
Meghan Birr both had double-doubles in the win. Shonk tallied 14 kills and 10 digs while Birr handed out 42 assists and added 14 digs.Â
Ave Stout hit .364 with 12 kills and
Stephanie Ruffing had 10 kills while swinging at a .391 clip.Â
Angelica Dippold had a team-high 18 digs. Jessica Marvin led Davenport with 14 kills and hit .462 while Sami White had 35 assists and 11 digs for the Panthers.
Scouting Davenport: The Panthers have won two straight matches after defeating Aquinas and Indiana Tech, both in four sets, to open WHAC tournament play. Krissy Dill leads Davenport with 402 kills and 34 service aces while Ashley VanderHorst is hitting .265 and has 82 blocks. Sami White has a team-high 591 assists and Kasey Stehouwer has registered 516 digs.
Scouting Cornerstone: The Golden Eagles enter the semifinals having won 21 straight matches after topping Siena Heights in four sets in the quarterfinals. Heather Green has tallied a team-high 457 kills while Kendra Zwart is hitting .325 with 196 blocks. Hope Leppink has handed out 1,362 assists and Maria Ma has a team-high 57 service aces. Mackenzie Vallad leads the Golden Eagles with 51 digs.
Scouting Madonna: The Crusaders enter the tournament having won four straight matches after sweeping Indiana-East last Saturday. Karlie Kelly leads the team with 467 kills while Amanda Hawkins is hitting .344 with 130 blocks. Lauren Korth has dished out 1,378 assists while Deanna Krumholz leads the quad with 600 digs. Jasmine DeMare has a team-high 48 service aces.
Lourdes in the WHAC Tournament: The Gray Wolves are 7-5 all-time in WHAC tournament play, having won their first title in 2015. Lourdes also reached the championship match in 2013.
Birr Setter of the Year: Meghan Birr was named the WHAC Setter of the Year for the second straight year after handing out 10.47 assists per set (1,037 total) and helping Lourdes hit .240 as a team. Her assist average ranks 20th in NAIA.
All-Conference Selections: Meghan Birr also was named First Team All-WHAC and joined teammates

Ave Stout in earning the honor.Â
Stephanie Ruffing garnered Second Team All-WHAC accolades, as did
Angelica Dippold, who also was named to the WHAC All-Freshman Team.
Among the Nation's Best: Lourdes ranks 19th in all of NAIA handing out 12.41 assists per set. The Gray Wolves are 18th in kills per set (13.46) and 22nd in hitting percentage (.240). The Gray Wolves are also 35th tallying 1.76 aces per set. Individually,
Ave Stout ranks 13th nationally hitting .367.
Perfect in the Ebeid Rec Center: Lourdes has gone 9-0 in the Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center since the building opened this fall. In fact, the Gray Wolves have won 27 of the 28 sets they have played, dropping just the third set to Madonna on Oct. 22.
This and That: Molly Shonk has recorded seven consecutive double-doubles and has 15 on the season ...
Meghan Birr has double-doubles in five of her last six matches ...
