Upcoming in Gray Wolves Volleyball: Lourdes takes the road for three matches this week, all within the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.  The Gray Wolves head to Concordia (Mich.) for a Wednesday evening match before traveling to Lawrence Tech and Marygrove for Friday and Saturday contests respectively.

Head Coach Greg Reitz: In his seventh season on the Lourdes bench, Greg Reitz has a 125-90 (.581) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves.  In his eighth season overall as a women's head coach, Reitz has a 145-125 (.537) career mark.  He is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history and was named WHAC Coach of the Year in 2015.

Series Notes: Lourdes holds an 9-1 series advantage against Concordia (Mich.) dating back to Aug. 20, 2010.  The Gray Wolves swept both of last year's meetings against the Cardinals and have won eight straight in the series.  Lourdes is 4-1 against Concordia in Ann Arbor, Mich.  Lourdes holds a 12-0 all-time series edge against Lawrence Tech going back to Sept. 17, 2011.  The Gray Wolves swept both meetings in 2015 and have dropped just six sets all-time to the Blue Devils.  Lourdes is 5-0 against Lawrence Tech in Southfield, Mich.  The Gray Wolves are 14-0 all-time against Marygrove dating back to Aug. 20, 2010.  The Gray Wolves have swept the last five meetings against the Mustangs, including both last season.  Lourdes is 4-0 against Marygrove in Detroit, Mich.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the new Russell J. Ebeid Recreation Center on Wednesday evening with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 sweep over Siena Heights.  Genessee Tate hit .556 with 11 kills while Angelica Dippold recorded 16 digs in the win.  On Friday, the Gray Wolves swept Aquinas at home 25-23, 25-14, 25-19.  Stephanie Ruffing had 11 kills and hit .375 while Molly Shonk recorded a team-high 13 digs.

Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals enter the week having won four straight contests after sweeping Rochester (Mich.) on the road Monday evening.  Erica den Boer leads Concordia with 181 kills and is hitting .273 while Claire Truskowski has handed out 422 assists.  Julia Szuba has recorded a team-high 259 digs while Rebecca McDonald has registered 43 blocks to pace the Cardinals defensively.

Scouting Lawrence Tech: The Blue Devils have won three of their last four matches overall after defeating Indiana-East in five sets on Saturday afternoon.  Lawrence Tech hosts Madonna on Wednesday before entertaining Lourdes.  Briana Reum leads the Blue Devils with 156 kills while Josie Queary has handed out 394 assists.  Kristi Doherty has 27 aces on the season while Lexi Szymoniak has recorded a team-high 233 digs.  Brenna Quin is the team's blocks leader with 32 this year.

Scouting Marygrove: The Mustangs have won two of their last three matches after defeating Rochester (Mich.) in four sets on Saturday.  Marygrove travels to Northwestern Ohio and hosts Siena Heights this week before Lourdes visits.    Stats on the Mustangs are not available at this time.

Home Sweet Home: After playing six seasons and 74 "home" matches at Tam-o-Shanter, Springfield HS, Southview HS, Owens CC, and the University of Toledo, Lourdes finally played its first matches on campus last week.  The Gray Wolves started 2-0 after going 53-21 in its previous "home" contests.

Stout with an Impressive Week: Ave Stout committed just one attack error in 31 swings last week against Siena Heights and Aquinas while registering 17 kills.  Her .516 hitting percentage including a .615 mark against Siena Heights when she recorded nine kills, second most on the team.  For the season the senior is hitting .318 while averaging 2.26 kills per set.

Settling in to the Libero Role: Freshman Angelica Dippold has adjusted to the libero role during her rookie campaign.  Over the last four matches she has recorded at least 12 digs in each.  For the season she has 114 digs, an average of 3.45 per set, and has committed just five reception errors over the last seven contests.

Nearly All the Career Records: Current Lourdes players own all of the career records in school history with the exception of the digs mark.  Stephanie Richards leads in kills (980) and attack attempts (2,804) while Ave Stout leads in attack percentage (.356).  Meghan Birr is the assists (1,711) record-holder and Stef Comte holds the blocks (266) mark.

Two Divisions: The WHAC has moved to two divisions in 2016 with Lourdes joining Aquinas, Concordia (Mich.), Cornerstone, Davenport, and Siena Heights in the West Division.  Teams will play everyone in their own division twice, once at home and once on the road.  Schools will play the opposite division once, facing three opponents at home and three on the road.

This and That: Stephanie Ruffing has three double-doubles and Molly Shonk has registered two already this year ... after this week's road trip, Lourdes will return home for four of its next five contests ... the Gray Wolves have not played a five set match since Oct. 17, 2015 against Madonna ... the crowd of 537 for the home opener against Siena Heights marks a new Lourdes attendance record.
