Match #4: Saturday, September 10, 2 p.m. EDT

Page Field - Howell, Mich.

Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: After opening the season with a pair of victories at home, Lourdes begins a three-match road trip on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves travel to Bethel (Ind.).  Lourdes heads to Michigan on Saturday afternoon to battle Cleary as non-conference action continues.

Head Coach Jackie Donovan: In her second season on the Lourdes bench, Jackie Donovan has an 10-9-1 (.525) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes has never faced Bethel (Ind.) in women's soccer.  The Gray Wolves are 1-0 against Cleary, having defeated the Cougars 2-0 on Sept. 23, 2015 at Wildcat Stadium.  Kendyl Christian and Remy Houttekier scored the goals for the Gray Wolves.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Lourdes opened the season on Tuesday with a 1-0 victory at home against Mount Vernon Nazarene.  Clare Ciarlino scored the lone goal of the match in the 65th minute and Kiley Transit made five saves for the shutout in her collegiate debut.  The Gray Wolves set a school record on Friday scoring 10 times in a 10-0 victory over Andrews at Wildcat Stadium.  Isabelle Karamuco recorded a hat trick while Ciarlino and Reagan Boice each tallied a pair of goals.  Ciarlino also had two assists as Lourdes outshot the Cardinals 45-1 for the match.

Scouting Bethel (Ind.): The Pilots registered their first victory of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win at Roosevelt.  Grace Smithberger and Kama Hardy lead Bethel with three points each, having both scored a goal and added an assists.  Julina Skow has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Pilots, and sports a 2.00 goals against average and an .813 save percentage.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars opened their season with a 3-0 victory over Goshen at home on Friday afternoon.  Cleary will travel to Andrews on Tuesday and Marygrove on Wednesday before hosting Lourdes on Saturday afternoon.  Kendra Pennington, Harley Gorzelski, and Emma Henig each scored for the Cougars while Paige Colosimo made five saves while earning the clean sheet.

Record-Setting Match: Lourdes set a new school record for goals, assists, and shots as a team in the win over Andrews.  The 10 goals better the previous mark of four at Lawrence Tech (Oct. 21, 2015) while the five assists top the three at Purdue Calumet (Sept. 15, 2015).  Lourdes also recorded 45 shots, topping the 30 at Rochester (Mich.) (Sept. 2, 2015).

Quite an Opening Week: Clare Ciarlino made a huge impact in her first two collegiate matches.  The freshman scored the match-winning goal on Tuesday against Mount Vernon Nazarene and followed that effort up with two goals and two assists for six points in the win over Andrews.  Her nine points rank her second in career scoring after just two matches.

Another Solid Debut: After missing last season due to injury, redshirt freshman Kiley Transit made her debut in goal this past week, notching a shutout in her first match against Mount Vernon Nazarene.  She played 45 minutes against Andrews as well, and has stopped all six shots that she has faced.

First Hat Trick: Isabelle Karamuco came off of the bench on Friday and scored three times to record the first hat trick in Lourdes' program history.  Karamuco, who did not score at all during her freshman season in 2015, now is the school's single match record holder for goals.

Another Multi-Goal Scorer: Reagan Boice made just her second collegiate soccer appearance on Friday against Andrews after playing basketball to begin her Gray Wolf career.  Boice scored twice on her only two shot attempts, and joins Isabelle Karamuco and Clare Ciarlino as the only multi-goal scorers in a match in program history.

Solid Defense: Lourdes limited Andrews to just one shot attempt over the 90 minutes on Friday.  In fact, through two matches, the Gray Wolves have allowed just 13 total shots, of which just six have been on goal.

Captains Named: Remy Houttekier, Tara Blundell, Kendyl Christian, and Hayley Wagner will serve as the team's captains during the 2016 season.  Houttekier is in her second season serving in the leadership role while Blundell, Christian, and Wagner are in year one.

This and That: Lourdes is looking to move three matches over the .500 mark for the first time in program history on Wednesday at Bethel (Ind.) ... the Gray Wolves have won three straight matches just once (Oct. 17-24), one of which came via forfeit ... Lourdes is 0-0-1 all-time in its first road match of the season, tying at Rochester (Mich.) to open the 2015 season.
