Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: The 2017 regular season comes to a close this week with Lourdes looking to secure a spot in next week's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament. The Gray Wolves host Michigan-Dearborn on Tuesday afternoon before entertaining Concordia (Mich.) for Senior Day on Saturday. Â
Head Coach Jackie Donovan: In her third season on the Lourdes bench,
Jackie Donovan has a 17-28-4 (.388) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach. She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.
Series Notes: Tuesday's meeting between Lourdes and Michigan-Dearborn marks the first for the two programs all-time. Lourdes and Concordia (Mich.) are meeting for the third time in a series that dates back to Oct. 17, 2015, with each team earning a prior victory. The Gray Wolves were 1-0 victors in the first meeting with the Cardinals scoring a 2-1 triumph last year. Both previous contests were held in Ann Arbor, with this being Concordia's first visit to Wildcat Stadium.
Wrapping Up Last Week: Cornerstone jumped in front in the 34th minute and added a pair of insurance tallies during the second half as the Golden Eagles defeated Lourdes 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.Â
Kerstyn Williams made eight saves in goal for the Gray Wolves in the loss.Â
Tori Koontz tied the match on Saturday with just 7:24 remaining in regulation and
Jenna Penz netted the match-winner midway through the first overtime session as Lourdes defeated Lawrence Tech 2-1 at home.
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn: The Wolverines are still looking for the first victory in program history as Michigan-Dearborn is in its inaugural season of women's soccer. The Wolverines fell 4-1 at home to Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday. Valeria Cossyleon has scored two of the Wolverines' four goals on the year while Jenna Rogers and Nicole Losek have the two assists. Jordan Anheuser has played every minute in goal, sporting a 4.90 goals against average and a .729 save percentage.
Scouting Concordia (Mich.): The Cardinals have dropped two straight matches after falling 3-2 to Madonna on Sunday, and are idle until closing their season on Saturday at Lourdes. Julia Palushaj leads Concordia with 11 goals and four assists for 26 total points while Sydney Rouse and Janaya Lothian have five goals each. Maria Lulgjuraj has played every minute in goal, and has a 1.74 goals against average and a .733 save percentage.
Down the Stretch in WHAC Play: While Lourdes enters the final week of the regular season in ninth place, with the top eight teams qualifying for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament, the Gray Wolves can still mathematically finish as sixth place.  At a minimum Lourdes needs at least one victory to move into a tie for the final qualifying position, and may need more than three points depending on other league outcomes this week.
Thanks Seniors: Lourdes will honor its four seniors prior to Saturday's match with Concordia (Mich.).Â
Tara Blundell,
Remy Houttekier,
Tori Koontz, and
Megan Soncrant are all closing their careers with the Gray Wolves at the conclusion of the season.

Season Firsts: The victory over Lawrence Tech also marked several season firsts. The match marked the first time the Gray Wolves won when surrendering the first goal, as well as the first time they posted a triumph when trailing or tied at halftime.
A Pair of Big Goals: Tori Koontz's goal to tie the match was the first of her Gray Wolf career. The senior is the school's career record holder with nine assists, but had never found the back of the net until Saturday. In addition,
Jenna Penz scored her first match-winning goal of her young career. The goal was the second overall for the freshman.
Team Scoring Marks: Lourdes has either set, tied, or is nearing each of the three scoring records as a team for a single season this year. The Gray Wolves have broken the single season record with 18 assists this season, surpassing last year's mark of 12. In addition, Lourdes surpassed the 2016 team for points in a year with 64, another school record. Finally, the Gray Wolves are just one goal shy of matching last year's record-setting campaign of 24, entering play this week having found the back of the net 23 times this season.
Captains: Remy Houttekier,
Tara Blundell, and
Kiley Transit will serve as the team's captains during the 2017 season. Houttekier is in her third season serving in the leadership role while Blundell is a team captain for the second time. Transit is a first time team captain.
