Upcoming in Gray Wolves Soccer: Lourdes closes out a four-match homestand, as well as non-league play on Wednesday afternoon as the Gray Wolves host Cleary at Wildcat Stadium.  The Gray Wolves open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday evening, with a trip to Rochester (Mich.), the newest addition to the WHAC.

On the Air: Wednesday's match against Cleary will be broadcast live on BCSN as part of Buckeye Broadband.  The game will also be replayed on Thursday at 5 p.m.  In addition, BCSN2 will show the match on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. and Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.

Head Coach Jackie Donovan: In her third season on the Lourdes bench, Jackie Donovan has a 14-23-3 (.388) record at the helm of the Gray Wolves as well as overall as a head coach.  She is the only head coach in Lourdes program's history.

Series Notes: Lourdes and Cleary have split their first two meetings in a series that dates back to Sept. 23, 2015.  The Gray Wolves won the first contest, played at Wildcat Stadium, 2-0 before the Cougars notched a 3-2 overtime victory on Sept. 10, 2016 in Howell, Mich.  Lourdes and Rochester (Mich.) have played to draws in both of their first two meetings.  The Gray Wolves traveled to Pontiac, Mich. for the first match in program history on Sept. 2, 2015, battling the Warriors to a scoreless tie.  Last year, on Sept. 17, 2016, the two schools played to a 1-1 draw at Wildcat Stadium.

Wrapping Up Last Week: Tara Blundell and Alyssa Swanson both scored first half goals on Wednesday, as Lourdes defeated Indiana East 2-1 at Wildcat Stadium.  Kerstyn Williams made four saves in the first half while Kiley Transit made one stop over the final 45 minutes.  On Saturday, Clare Ciarlino scored just 2:50 into the contest for what proved to be the match-winner, and Remy Houttekier added an insurance tally in the second half as the Gray Wolves defeated Bethel (Ind.) 2-0.  Williams had two first half stops while Transit made one save in the second half as the duo combined for the shutout.

Scouting Cleary: The Cougars are still looking for their first victory of the season after suffering a 2-1 setback at Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon.  Cleary is in its first season as a NAIA institution.  Anna Jennings, Madilyn Schafer, and Kendra Pennington have accounted for the Cougars' three goals thus far this season.  Tatum Spears has started three matches in goal, sporting a 3.14 goals against average and a .703 save percentage for Cleary while Nicole Nadolski has started the other three contests, posting a 3.50 GAA and a .667 save mark.

Scouting Rochester (Mich.): The Warriors have won two of their last three matches entering conference play after defeating Cleary 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.  Rochester is in its first season as a member of the WHAC.  Ashlin Taylor leads the Warriors with four goals and two assists for 10 points on the year while Breanna Bianchi, Christy Routheaux, and Emily Hall each have a pair of goals.  Cali Clemens has started all but one match in goal for Rochester, and enters the weekend sporting a 1.98 goals against average and a .755 save percentage.

Lourdes in WHAC Openers: When Lourdes travels to Rochester (Mich.) on Saturday, the Gray Wolves will begin their third season of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play.  Lourdes is 1-1 all-time in league openers, defeating Davenport 1-0 on the road in 2015 before falling to Davenport 3-2 last season.

Matching Last Year's Win Total and Program's Best Start: With the victory over Bethel (Ind.) on Saturday, Lourdes has already matched its win total from the entire 2016 season.  The Gray Wolves finished last year 3-12-1 overall.  The current 3-2-1 record equals Lourdes' best six-match start in program history.  The Gray Wolves posted a 3-2-1 start in 2015 as well before improving to 4-2-1 with a win at Davenport in match seven.

Houttekier Involved in the Offense: Remy Houttekier contributed to three of the Gray Wolves' four goals last week.  She assisted on both tallies against Indiana East, including the match-winner.  The fifth-year senior then added an insurance goal for Lourdes in the win over Bethel (Ind.).  Houttekier is now second on the team in scoring with two goals and six points, and leads the team with two assists.

Ciarlino Takes Over Career Goal Lead: When Clare Ciarlino scored the match-winning goal against Bethel (Ind.) on Saturday, she became the Gray Wolves' career goal-scoring leader with nine, passing Jada Foster (2015-2016).  Ciarlino, who also shares the school's all-time assist lead with five, also holds the school's points record with 23 during her first two years at Lourdes.

First Lourdes Goals: Tara Blundell and Alyssa Swanson both broke through into the scoring column last week against Indiana East with their first career goal at Lourdes.  Blundell, a fifth-year senior, had not scored since 2013, her freshman season at Delta College, while Swanson's match-winning tally marked her first collegiate goal.

Captains Named: Remy Houttekier, Tara Blundell, and Kiley Transit will serve as the team's captains during the 2017 season.  Houttekier is in her third season serving in the leadership role while Blundell is a team captain for the second time.  Transit is a first time team captain.

This and That: Lourdes has moved back to .500 (9-9-2) all-time at Wildcat Stadium ... Abby Miller and Jenna Penz both made their collegiate debuts Saturday against Bethel (Ind.) ... Lourdes has registered shutouts in three of their last four matches ... the current four-match unbeaten streak (3-0-1) is the longest such streak in program history.
